Decent course for the money
They book to many tee times to close together which made for a slow round.
A real ego booster
If you feel like a lower score for a change this is the course to play. The short par 4s allow you to hit a drive close to the green and feel like the pros hiring a wedge into the green. The fairways and greens are in great condition, and the rough is cut low. The bunkers are typical gravely sand so we just lift rake and place. This is a fun course and we'll worth the price
Great experience and value!!
Wonderful golf experience...the value was great!!
Great layout and value
The course was in great shape and a nice challenge - no goofy holes- IMO -even though it was a holiday and quite busy - we finished our 18 in 4hr 45 mins! - the staff was excellent very friendly from the pro shop to the marshalls to the waitress - highly recommended
Great course never wet
I have been playing this course off and on for the past 6 years and I have never seen the course in poor condition or wet. Its one of the last courses to close in winter and one of the first ones to open in spring. The course itself is very nice and very playable. Only a few trees between most fairways which means if your aim is off or slicing you don't get penalised too much. A few water hazards (some forced carries most are par 3s) and some sand but nothing out of the ordinary. Very few hills which also makes this course easy to walk.
Value for the Money
Pleaser to play. Good Value for this time of year, Will be back!
Pine Knot Golf Course
I play men's league at Pine Knot and I love the course, conditions can be tough come the dead heat in the summer maybe needs a little extra watering. But greens are amazing and play of course is for any type of golfer
Great shape... Nov 15th
The course was in great shape... Especially for the 15th of Nov
Wow! Best fall golf
Wow! I am so impressed with this club. They are always improving. I was amazed how clean the course was of leaves. They work hard to keep the conditions so well into the fall. Greens were rolling true! I will not waste my time or money playing anywhere else. The staff is welcoming and can tell they are passionate about golf and their club. Food was really tasty after the round. I'm coming back tomorrow.
Harder than it looks
Course well maintained, great staffm well worth the the money
Thanksgiving weekend
Have always enjoyed playing Pine Knot. A holiday weekend so play was slow...and what was with the foursome in front of us stopping to fish balls out of every pond when people are lined up behind them! But not the course's fault. Enjoyed our round.
needs more work
Course was in OK condition with a lot of late summer burnout and lots of sparse grass areas
Greens were fast because they had been rolled but still difficult getting the ball in the hole as the greens would not hold the putt line.
Overall not a bad course to play in the fall
Little Gem
Was very pleased with this course. Nice layout. Beautiful shape. Only weird hole was 17. They have to think about doing something with that. Otherwise it was a great. Will def be playing again soon,
One of my Fav's
This is one of my favorite courses. It's not overly long or extremely difficult but challenging enough to make it a fun course to play. It's not a 'Grip it and Rip it' type of course so you'll have to put some thought into each shot if you want to score low. Course was in great shape, staff were friendly and got a great deal on GolfNow. They have just recently opened a new driving range as well. Although I didn't use it, it looked fantastic. Will definitely be back again !
Great Course Great Value
This is a pleasant course for people to play. It can be forgiving but it is Pine Knot for a reason. The greens have improved significantly from the early spring when we first played here this year.
This is a definite play for golfers and one of our favorites. The staff has always been extremely friendly here. The food is very good with good service and there is always a good selection on tap for those who are not the DD.
Nice track with some interesting holes
As a twosome was dismayed to see a five some tee off ahead of us. Commented to the staff in pro shop and was told the supervisor and manager were part of the group. The starter was extremely helpful and offered to intervene, however, at the second hole the group politely offered to let us play through. Smooth sailing from there. Quite an enjoyable round.
Good Condition, excellent value
Course as in good condition, the rough in few locations was really thick.
Beautiful course
Very clean course with spectacular views. Lots of challenges to make it a great course for beginners and experienced golfers. Loved it.
great staff
The greens had a terrible winter. ( No fault of greens keeper or maintenance staff ) They were a little better than a couple of weeks ago , but have a long way to go to be up to par.
What happened to this place??
Played here in the past and always enjoyed it, but it has gon way down hill. Fairways are way too hard and in terrible shape, 75% of the greens are dead, it really chips away at the enjoyment. Grounds staff don't seem to care about the people playing, buddy had his industrial gas blower just humming during one of my approach shots. Incredibly disappointed with Pine Knot this year.
Should be easy, on paper but can add strokes. I try to play to the 100 yard marker which is a demanding shot, hit it on the green and make a par. I'd take that any day. Lots of trouble lurks, not a cupcake hole. That's the beauty of this course, so many ways to play the holes. Good luck.
