The Hammer
Great day weather perfect course was in good shape for spring
Wish it was kept better
The views are spectacular. The course layout is very enjoyable.with some extreme elevation changes. The fairways and greens are in nice shape. The tee blocks were pretty beat up and the bunkers were absolutely terrible. None were groomed at all. Just hard dirt with weeds growing out of them. That was very disappointing to see. I will play again. I just wish the course could be maintained better. Also we ordered hotdogs at the turn and they only had ketchup and mustard. No relish, no tomatoes, no onions. How hard is that to provide !!!!!
Chedoke - Beddoe - Meh
The course was average. No yardage markers on fairways made knowing distances extremely difficult. The greens were ok. Tee decks were not so great. fairways mediocre at best and very thick rough.
The Hammer
Good course early in the season so rough was really high in some places
WORST I'VE SEEN IT
The course was the worst I've seen it in 30 years. Fairways were hairy and had clumps where the cutter missed. The rough Immediately off the fairways was 4-6 inches deep all over the course.
A Course with Good Layout.
I have played this course many a times. This was my first round in this (2024) season on this course. Though it is my favourite course, this time I found that it needs more maintenance. Fairways and greens are not up to the standard. Need more trimming. The washrooms are in pathetic condition. The administration needs to work more on improving the conditions. The pace was slow due to slow pace by the groups in front. Players must be told to obey the rules.
Pace of play
It was absolutely ridiculous that 1 group of 4 women backed up the entire course and didn’t let anyone play through. There was no marshal and what should have been a beautiful 31/2 hour round turned into a 5hour ordeal. I love the beddoe course and have been playing it for years but Monday was just insane. It is not the first time but it has been a regular occurrence now. It just might be time to find a different course to call home
Spring golf
The course was pretty wet in spots but that is expected this time of the year at this location. The bunkers are not good, basically mud weeds and leaves. The greens were good and we enjoyed the round. The halfway house isn’t open yet and the drink cart only came around once. I am sure that will change soon. We enjoyed our round.
