Dating back to 1973, King's Forest Golf Course in Hamilton is among the top public golf courses in Ontario. The conditions are top-notch especially for a municipal course, and Ontario Golf Magazine has recognized King's Forest as a "Hidden Gem." King's Forest has hosted the Canadian Junior Golf Association Ontario finals, the Ontario Men's Amateur Championship Qualifier and the Ontario Men's Amateur Championship.

Kings Forest is Tired!
The City of Hamilton currently owns this course... Kings Forest and Chedoke (Martin & Beddoe). Sadly, they have other priorities (completely understandable) that take precedence over owning and maintaining three golf courses. Course is in decent shape... some greens were rough... and could use some tree/bush thinning next to some fairways compared to what it originally was years ago when I first played there. Clubhouse is ok, but nothing spectacular... it's had a refresh since I last visited... but nothing crazy. Staff were very friendly. Pace of play was very good. Gas carts. I'd really like to see the course sold to a company that could take it to the next level (as a golf course), but assume that would probably be a land developer that would level it and build houses on it. All things considered, it's a good municipal golf course... it was a great day, with good friends and some great shots and memories. Will play again.
Just do it
Awesome scenery and layout. Challenging but tee block panaramas are chill!
Watering needed
This was my first time playing the course and I was very excited because it’s considered one of the top public courses in Ontario. I was very surprised how brown the grass was. In many situations I was hitting off bare ground. The course could be greatly improved if they could regularly water it. Otherwise I was very pleased. I think I’ll try to go back but in the spring.

dry conditions due to lack of rain. course was in exallent shape .
Course was in great condition, Kings Forest never disappoints. Golfed with two members who very nice had a great time golfing with them. Looking forward.to my next round
