About
Thunderbird Sports Centre boasts Ottawa's only lighted par-3 golf course. The family-friendly course is ideal for beginners and juniors. The nine-hole layout has a classic design that is not overly formidable but it's great for sharpening your short game and course-management skills regardless of skill level. Water comes into play only on the second hole but there are bunkers protecting nearly all of the greens and some holes are framed by mature trees. It's a golf course that can accommodate a wide range of skill levels, from juniors just beginning to learn the game to more advanced players who want to squeeze in a quick round. The golf course is open well into the evening and the affordability makes it doubly appealing. Thunderbird Sports Centre is s also conveniently located less than 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa.

Great little par 3 course
Quick to play. Great for beginners or for a quick round.Course is in good shape. Lovely trees.
Great Shape Bad Bugs
Very nice par 3 in great shape. The black flies really spoiled the round. Bring bug repellent.
Reservation system needs work.
I booked the course for two people and then half an hour later a third-person wanted to join our twosome but I was not able to change the reservation online. I then called the 1-800 number and they confirmed that the booking could not be changed. This is a very poor customer service feature. In addition, the fine print for the online bookings indicates that rain checks are only available if the course is closed on a specific day. Since course is rarely closed even when it is raining., this basically allows the online provider to abused its customers by denying rain checks to customers when they should be entitled to them. I have voice my concerns to the golf course management and they are reviewing their service agreement with GolfNow

Short holes. Not much variety but the course and all geeens are in top shape. Very good price compared to other Ottawa 9-hole courses that are not in half as good shape and charge up to twice as much.

Lovely municipal course
As a perpetual beginner, this golf course is perfect for me. Pretty course with enough variety, water and sand to make it interesting. A low pressure place, close to Ottawa. Cost is well within reason.
