Oliver's Nest Golf and Country Club

About
Situated just west of Lindsey, Oliver's Nest Golf & Country Club is an idyllic escape that sprawls across rolling hills with the Mariposa Brook ambling through. The golf course opened in 1996 and despite being relatively young, Graham Cooke, a well known Canadian architect who designed the course, managed to incorporate the mature elms, oaks, and cedar trees that were already present in the wooded surroundings. Half of the holes on this challenging golf course are doglegs. The greens are fast and undulating and the rolling fairways are varied in size. The winding brook comes into play on several holes and there is also an abundance of strategically placed bunkers throughout. Oliver's Nest Golf & Country Club's signature hole is the par-3 seventh, whose green is protected by a pond in the front and trees in the back.

Love this coarse. Played a little slow at 4 45 hours but was a beautiful Sunday
Enjoyed playing today as always
Fairways in great shape. Greens were aerated fairly recently so a bit bumpy still.
Worth playing over and over
Well worth my trip to Lindsay
Course conditions very good despite recent downpour
Worth the Drive.
I have played many courses in Durham and haven't played Oliver's nest in years. Decided to play it for a change and in my opinion was well worth the drive from Ajax. The Course is in Excellent shape. If you want to play on a challenging course in Excellent shape, you want to play Oliver's Nest. Have been back several times already.
Diamond conditioned golf course
I played with another Golf Now Player who the course paired us together. We played from the Blue tees and found a good enough challenge from there. We both shot in the low to mid 80's which was OK for us mid 60s age players who last played here about ten years ago. I wish the course was a little closer to home. This is the best course in the Kawartha Lakes area from a variety of layout, course condition, practice facility and enjoyment. The greens are undulating so best to be below the flag rather than above it. The greens were medium speed probably a 9 or 10 on the stimp meter but could be a little faster in my view. I look forward to playing here again. I found a couple of par fours more difficult than the slightly longer par fives. I would give the course at nine for condition, value and enjoyable layout. Some local knowledge will be gained the next time I play here as I shouldn't have tried to cut a couple dog legs too close to the inside corner. The placements were in moderately easy places on the undulating greens. For sure if the greens keeper has a bad night the pin placements could be put in very tricky places especially if the greens were a little faster. This course is well worth the effort to get to.
Great course no sand
I really enjoy playing here. The only challenge is that the bunkers have no sand. It’s just clay so we end up playing preferred lie.
