Excellent alternative
This is an excellent course for so many different types of golfer. Seniors, juniors, beginners, and just anyone who doesn't want to spend large money or time on what has become "the standard". 12 holes is perfect.
Family owned, they are wonderful people. Greens are in great condition and the driving range, patio, and restaurant are an added bonus. Friendly patrons top it all off.
Fantastic Atmoshere
The pace of play was relaxed and people could easily play through if needed. The ladies working here are just the sweetest most accommodating and friendliest people. I am now a member here because I loved everything about the staff and course itself. Small upgrades have been made around the course and clubhouse for the players benefits. The food that I have tried off the menu has been delicious every time (hot wings, wraps, calamari). I have brought many of friends and family here and had fun times. The course is very well maintained including fairways and greens. I will continue to recommend this course to friends and family.
Fairway grass
I have played a lot of courses over about 60 years and this course has the hands down worst fairway grass on many holes of any. Otherwise, the greens are good and improvements with tree planting is in progress. The 12 holes are unique but enlargement of #1 an 2 greens would be nice. I think #7 green is not fair. There is really no sweet spot to reward a good shot. Its a fun course and not that easy but fix the fairways please!
Deer Run
Lovely golf course we enjoy playing as often as possible. Course is in excellent condition, well-maintained.
Food is excellent. Staff are all friendly.Almost hate telling people about this, great value.
My husband and I love it!!!!
The Jury is Still Out on New Ownership
The staff are all extremely friendly, but new ownership seems to be losing that down-home, family feeling that Deer Run is noted for. Time will tell I guess...
