Fanshawe Golf Course - Quarry

We always have a good time at Fanshawe. best public course in the city of London. we didn't grab any food , but the beer cart was out as soon as it stopped raining.
Great staff too.

Tee times were a little behind but the course was busy and this was not unexpected for the good weather. If some of the individual golfers had been grouped together with the twosomes and threesomes ahead of us things would have been perfect.

Course is very wide open and not overly challenging for a decent golfer. They need to toughen it up with more bunkers / trees etc. That being said, it was in very good condition. Greens were soft and fast, fairways manicured perfectly. IMO, it's overpriced for this caliber of course. With a cart, you're looking at $50 or more. For that price, I can play a lot of other courses that are just as good or better, but then again, this course is owned by the city of London and they don't offer a lot of deals.

Fun course to play. 42$ with a cart!!! There so much good golf to play outside the GTA.

Course is generally open, links style play, though the par 3's have trouuble. Very happy with the condition of the course and the pace of play for a nice Friday afternoon. The city is a little soft on the weeds and the groundhogs. The huge gopher holes in the sand traps present probably the biggest challenge.

The Course was in good shape for early season. Upon arrival I realized I had left my rain jacket at home, and it was likely to rain during the round. The Club Pro Rob took the time and offered EXCELLENT SERVICE in helping me purchase a high quality rain coat at an excellent price.

I haven't played the city courses for years. Was happily surprised. Greens and tee blocks excellent. Fairways somewhat spongy but expected this time of year.

Some damp spots on the fairways from previous day rain . Bunkers very hard with stones ... Should just fill them in.
Otherwise a good course with some good roll in it.

Golf course was in great shape, the golf carts were quiet and in good condition. If the weather had been good it would have been a five star day.
I have never seen so many groundhogs.

Course was in excellent condition especially for middle of July.

Greens are challenging making up for wide open fairways

Good course for beginners. Can't get into too much trouble. There are some lengthy par 4's that make it challenging if you are not a long hitter..

greens are large and quick, some challenging par 3's over bog-like areas, rough was thick but fair, fairways are generous yet sculptured narrow in landing areas.

This course offered some challenging holes. Loved that its pretty wide open yet offered some water hazards and great location of sand traps.
The only thing I didn't like is the location of #9/ #10 as they are no where near the clubhouse so going in for a bite to eat is not an option.

Great value for money if you can book a hot deal on this course. At full price I wouldn't have been very impressed. Most of the tee blocks were within 10 yards of each other. Hardly worth having 3 separate tees. Wide open fairways and reasonably short rough made it easy to score well even when my drives went wild. Out and back layout means no quitting after nine.

Course was well maintained and in good shape considering the number of people playing there. Unfortunately most of the people who golf there don't tend to the course I.e. fixing divets. I also find it unfortunate that tee booking times are not more well managed. The course was way too busy!!! From the 10th hole until we finished, the two twosomes ahead of us and my husband and I were together at the tee boxes right through the completion of 18 holes - needless to say we weren't particularly pleased.
And the golf cart to rent for my husband and I was very expensive I thought compared to other courses!!!!
