Royal Niagara Golf Club - Escarpment Course
About
The Escarpment Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club. The course is so named for its layout, which begins at the base of the Niagara Escarpment and snakes upwards to the top of the wooded Escarpment; afterwards it goes back downhill to the clubhouse. The golf course has been built to championship standards with carefully sculpted fairways and cavernous bunkers. There are also undulating greens and water hazards coming into play throughout. The challenging round is complemented by the scenic views provided by Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club's idyllic location between the Escarpment, the Bruce Trail and the Welland Canal

Must give it a go
Went on Sunday noon to play a round a golf with my wife
Surprisingly it wasn’t busy not that we were complaining
The course was in great condition
This is a course that everyone should try at least once
Not worth it..!!!
Played July 31st, course was restricted to cart path only and there was absolutely no need for that..!!! Fairways were dry enough and groups behind us were driving in the fairways. It has been 5 years at least since we played there because the rates are way overpriced for the course conditions, bunkers are still bad. The only improvement is paved cart paths now. Save your money...not worth over 100 bucks each with carts.
Meh
For an 80 dollar round of really wasn’t anything special. Poor layout which is unfortunate, greens were in good shape but everything else was very mediocre. Seems like kaneff courses really have been let go and for 80 dollars a round I wouldn’t play here again
Fun day out @ Royal Niagara
Played in a twosome and was paired up with a single. Booked the hot deal 🔥 a week earlier and got a great price for a primetime Sunday afternoon. My first time playing here, however the course was in great condition for it being such a hot and dry summer to date. Fairways were well watered, greens were fair. Challenging course layout at times , not many bunkers but alot of holes where you gotta get the ball up in the air to get over rescue and different kind of hazards. Didn't interact much with the staff, however I noticed they had a fully licensed bar and lunch spot as well as a beer girl out and about.
Improved
Course is much improved since last time (5 years ago) ,new cart paths , removal of some bunkers. If they add new directional signage , I would give it 5 stars. Lots of goose poo on course ,
Hidden Gem
course was is great shape, greens ran true. its a great test of shot making with a good variety slopes and doglegs. cart paths look freshly paved and signage was overall help full. pro ship staff and the starter were extremely friendly and nice.
Great course
Course was in great shape, played in under 4 hours, highly recommend.
Royal Niagara
We where lucky to get out early as a group as we tend to play best ball , depending on our foresome. We had no one in front, or behind us, so we totally enjoyed the round.
It was as if we owned the golf course. The staff was great as they got us out there a little earlier than our tee time as we told them that we intended to play best ball.
Two thumbs way up.
