Royal Niagara Golf Club - Iron Bridge Course
About
With a location tucked away between the Niagara Escarpment, the Bruce Trail, and the Welland Canal, Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club offers 27 scenic holes. The Iron Bridge Course is one of the three nines at the club. The first hole runs across the magnificent Iron Bridge, which passes over the rambling waters of the Welland Canal. There are undulating greens and deep, well placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Although all of the courses at Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club are equal in difficulty and beauty, each layout is unique with an interesting set of challenges that pose a formidable test for players of all skill levels.

Pace of play
Two of us on a cart were paired with a walking golfer. Too slow
Should not be playing with walkers if on a cart
18 Holes was not enough
We had a perfect day to play Royal Niagara and played an emergency 9 holes after playing 18- ( Iron Bridge 2X and Escarpment 1X) . Next time will budget for 27 holes and hopefully will play the Canal Course as well. Consider a membership for 2025.
Nice course with so much untapped potential
A perfectly above average experience ... with the chance to be so much more. The course is very well laid out and requires quite a bit of strategy. The views are nice and the prices are reasonable. So it's hard to complain when all that is factored in. The course conditions were lacking and greens just didn't roll true. With some modest improvements (this course would seriously benefit from GPS in the carts - a modest upgrade that all premium courses should have nowadays) and a little more attention to detail, this could be one of the best courses in the Niagara region. For now, it's just a very solid B with the potential to be much better.
Good day of golf
The course was in okay condition, there was a tournament that morning so there were a few extra ball marks on the green, Otherwise it was a perfect day of golf. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Unimpressed
Upon arriving golf shop staff was professional. We were told to see the starter outside, who was less than welcoming and advising first timers on what to do. He told us to put on bags on cart 71. We did that and waited for a staff member to give us some more information. No information was given until the starter came over and said you’re playing with these 2 guys. The men we were playing with were SLOW players. My wife and I were on vacation and did our best to deal with it. About the 5th hole the ranger comes up to my wife and says you need to pick it up you’re 2 holes behind. My wife and I are 3hour a round players. Explain that the 2 guys we’re playing with are SLOW. He made the mistake of assuming that my wife was the slow player. To say his attitude upset me was would be a huge understatement. So we rush to the next tee to see the group in front of us and wait 5 minutes to tee off. Now I’m really upset! To say this facility has a bias against women is again an understatement. When I got to the turn I made my point in an assertive manner and they sent us to another 9 where we finish our game in peace. I worked in the golf business for 5 years and can only say, this is not how you do it. In the end they made it better, but only after I forced the issue. Recommend try someplace else.
Must give it a go
Went on Sunday noon to play a round a golf with my wife
Surprisingly it wasn’t busy not that we were complaining
The course was in great condition
This is a course that everyone should try at least once
Excellent course
Great experience from beginning to end. Staff was excellent and the course is in great shape! Thank you!
Not worth it..!!!
Played July 31st, course was restricted to cart path only and there was absolutely no need for that..!!! Fairways were dry enough and groups behind us were driving in the fairways. It has been 5 years at least since we played there because the rates are way overpriced for the course conditions, bunkers are still bad. The only improvement is paved cart paths now. Save your money...not worth over 100 bucks each with carts.
Meh
For an 80 dollar round of really wasn’t anything special. Poor layout which is unfortunate, greens were in good shape but everything else was very mediocre. Seems like kaneff courses really have been let go and for 80 dollars a round I wouldn’t play here again
