Royal Niagara Golf Club - Iron Bridge Course

About
With a location tucked away between the Niagara Escarpment, the Bruce Trail, and the Welland Canal, Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club offers 27 scenic holes. The Iron Bridge Course is one of the three nines at the club. The first hole runs across the magnificent Iron Bridge, which passes over the rambling waters of the Welland Canal. There are undulating greens and deep, well placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Although all of the courses at Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club are equal in difficulty and beauty, each layout is unique with an interesting set of challenges that pose a formidable test for players of all skill levels.

Fast greens
Course was in great shape and the greens ran fast we will be back
Fun Course
Played iron bridge and escarpment. Both were in nice shape. There are some long walks between some holes if you’re walking. Fun round. I’d play again and again.
Excellent pace of play
This course is played out beautifully and is a very nice course with the three 9 hole courses the pace of play is excellent. The clubhouse and pro shop have everything you would want, the staff is great
Money needs to be spent here
Greens are uneven with different kinds of grass. Maps are horrific and no use to a first time player here. Yardage no longer appears on irrigation heads. Some trees are overhanging where they shouldn't be. This feels like a real estate development in waiting, and whoever owns it now doesn't want to spend any money on it
Challenging beautiful golf course and friendly marshall
We enjoyed this golf course and the marshall Dave is especially very professional and nice.
My only recommendation is to put more signs for next hole to reduce time for looking for the next hole.
Slow play and no course marshals
We were waiting on every hole starting on the first T. There were absolutely no Marshalls to be seen except for the third to last hole when someone raced up to us because they couldn’t find a waver on file. Absolutely ridiculous would never recommend this course.
Wow what a beautiful course
I got paired up with three of the best guys I have ever played with Don,Wong and Song you guys were a riot to play with! The course was in great shape and the greens were super fast. Bianca was very friendly and is very easy on the eyes lol.
I will definitely be back there again before the season is over
Course Improvements
Royal Niagara is coming back to when it first opened decades ago. The par 3 tee boxes are are new, with leveled tee boxes and nice plush grass. Cart paths are paved and wide. Greens have less divots.
Challenging, scenic, but bring lots of balls and tic spray
Solid course. Greens play excellent, fairways are in good condition, brand new cart paths, and plenty of majestic gooses' to make this course feel truly Canadian.
All Staff needs customer service training
We’ve played here for years because of course not staff. Definately won’t be back. From check in in clubhouse, girl was not friendly. They have one of those cart girls that doesn’t know not to drive towards your group when you’re hitting and she did it half a dozen times.
Maintenance crews were working on the sprinkler systems on course as needed and 1 crew had to be asked to move to the side as they were right in front of the tee box. They had no intention of moving. Never experienced that before.
Course itself has always been good but they’ve let brush and trees overgrow in some of the valleys making those holes harder then they need to be as they are hard enough.
No gps or signs with distances to hazards so mobile apps needed if you plan on playing but I wouldn’t.
Great value for the money
Fantastic pace of play, great value for the money. Was a little surprised that the restaurant/bar was closed at 1:00pm on a Saturday as we wanted to stay and have lunch after our round. Regardless, great round at a great course.
Beautiful course
Great conditions, friendly staff, pretty good value as well. I played by myself and completed the round in two hours and 15 minutes with a cart.
Great Course
The course is in great shape and all the cart paths have been freshly paved. I have played here for years and this is the best shape I’ve ever seen it. Highly recommend.
Course too Difficult
Course was very dry. Almost impossible to keep the ball in play. Also, the foliage has grown significantly leading to several blind shots. The course was as always difficult with its narrow fairways and small greens, but now its just unplayable for mid-high handicappers.
