Great course to play!
My Friend and I play once a week. Deerfield is our go to place to play. The Tee boxes and fairways are ideal condition. The greens are fast and dry. The course offers great opportunity to play my long game and challenges my short game!
Never again
Shaggy greens, Digital everything, terrible range, hitting off mats. The course conditions reminded of the crappy little courses I played as a child.
Never again.
Shaggy greens reminiscent of my youth at the beginner crappy course and the hard dark sand was well below expectations.
Despite the decent layout, they no longer care and when it comes to another golf outing I can assure you this one is on the list of …….. no matter what the price……
Never Again!
Awful
Totally disappointed, course was awful. Shape…greens so slow. Greens like shag, waited 98% of shots for groups 6 deep in front of us. Paired up with an after and son from port credit, spoke zero English, rode a cart in front of us walking , so we hit over their cart for the last 5 holes every shot .argued over golf course etiquette, they left 18th green not finishing, returned to our vehicle to have it scratched with keys all down drivers side. We stopped at vehicle after 9 to grab a sweater, that’s why they knew our vehicle. Thanks Deerfield, never again
Marshalls are too aggressive, times are booked too tight.
We got paired with 12-13 year old kids, they weren’t playing poorly, just chatting a bit having a good time. The marshall's literally would not stop hounding them and Asking them to pick up the ball and hurry up. The people behind said to us they weren’t concerned with the pace of play. Much of it has to do with course layouts. Previously I experienced something similar, not for people who cant reliably drive the fairway over 200 yards. Not for beginners. Staff at the concessions don’t even say hi, can’t tell who’s working the register, just people walking around the kitchen. Served by 2 different staff, neither said hi or were friendly. Changed my mind on the beer I wanted… “oh you want this now!?”
Last time I book this place.
No one cared
Not sure what the grounds crew put on the greens but it was like concrete sand. Zero heads up from the staff about it. Any balls rolling on the green would get this stuff stuck to it. Consequently, every hole required balls to be washed. In addition, it would also get on the bottom of our putters which required frequent cleaning. This stuff also got on our golf shoes and once it dried it was like hardened concrete. Took a lot of scrubbing to get it off the bottom of our shoes. We teed off in the afternoon so the staff can’t say that they didn’t know about the conditions. That is what was most frustrating. Own up to the crappy conditions Deerfield and go out of your way to make it easier for the players to deal with it. You didn’t even have a bucket of water at the starter hut for people to wet their towels which was very necessary given this powdered clay that was on the greens.
Course Conditions
I played this course Friday and the green conditions were deplorable. There was a grey sticky silt spread on every green. We were told it was fertilizer. It was questionable, if it was fertilizer please change brands. This sticky grit adhered to everything. It skewed the roll of the ball on the greens. It made a mess of my shoes, glove, and irons both at the head and the grips. I have played this course before but will think twice before playing again. Some kind of forewarning would have been appreciated.
Not good experience
Staff not friendly, driving range very shabby and course poorly maintained and very wet fairways and sand traps.
Bot well maintained
Understand the puddles due to rain but should have cut fairways short and greens. Especially greens grew or didn't maintain- hit on the carpet literally no rolling just bumping. Will not come back unless there is nowhere to go
Great course for a walk
Deerfield is conveniently located right off the 403 in between Toronto and Niagara. It offers some memberships throughout the year for those who have lots of time to play. Great practice putting green very large. They also have a driving range on the course which is great before you go play 18. Greens are always in good condition, have never had an issue here
Mediocre
Driving Range closed at 3 pm on Sundays
Staff are quite rude and arrogant.
Pace of play was slower than expected, on the last hole staff wanted carts back. No marshals to review pace of play.
Love the course!
Love this track but the greens were very slow compared to when I played a few weeks ago. Seems like they hadn’t cut them in 2-3 days and quite a few brown spots out there.
