Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club - Hawk's Island
About
Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club offers two 18-hole courses and one par-3, executive course. The golf courses are spread across nearly 400 acres of ponds and mature forests. Hawk’s Island is the nine-hole course, situated southeast of the other 36 holes at the club. The terrain is mostly flat but there is some undulation in the large, bent grass greens. The signature hole of the golf course is No. 5, which requires a downward approach shot to a tricky island green that is flanked by bunkers on both sides. The Hawk’s Island Course is ideal for juniors or beginners, but it is also great for golfers who just want a quick but challenging round.

Very poor drainage, front 9 very wet, cart path only.
Pace of play improved back nine, but still pools of water.
I have difficulty walking so cart path only rule was a huge obstacle. Glad we got price discount thru Golf Now.
The course was much better than I assumed and will certainly play it again
Everything was very good on this course from when I arrived to when I left. the only negative comment, I have would be that the bunkers could use a little more sand and on a few holes the bunkers were quite full of water, but that’s to be expected since the night before we had a torrential downpour! It might be worthwhile for the grounds keepers to put some drainage tiles under the bunkers to take the water out of them
Bad Greens
Decent layout, good burgers and friendly staff but the conditions of the greens on the Timber course were terrible. Holes from either aerating or not repairing ball marks were everywhere. Greens Definitely need a lot if attention .
An excellent bang for your buck cottage course!
Both the meadow and timber are excellent options if you’re in cottage country or local to the area. Courses are always in Great condition, pace of play is never an issue and staff is great. They also have a very strong pro shop with nice apparel, and a great halfway house with above-average food options. In a world where most golf near the GTA is usually wildly overpriced or totally unplayable and cheap, Hawk Ridge is a top notch facility and super affordable.
Maintenance
The golfing in general is good. The grounds surrounding the course are unkept and is some areas a little hazardous
Disappointed
I have played here for 3 years and this was the worst the fairways and especially the tee boxes have looked. This is usually a quality golf course that looks amazing, but was disappointed this time. Played Timber course
Tee box , fairways and greens were brown and full of weeds
I have played this course many times. It is now under new ownership and clearly golf isn’t what they care about.
Tee boxes were full of dandelions. Found ourselves looking for a clear spot to put our tee down.
