Not a bad course but....
This course was fairly decent. Well taken care of. Greens on one of the 9 hole courses were fast. On another, slow. No overly challenging holes. All seemed pretty much straight, with a few exceptions. Staff were ok. Cart girl was friendly. The one time she came around....
Bar staff were extremely friendly and very efficient. Marshals were great. Now the admin staff... that's were the service lacked. One of my colleagues called in when we were on our 2nd half of golf to find out where the cart girl was at. We were 4 holes in at this point. The young woman who answered the phone, seemed bothered by our call and disinterested in helping us see if we could get the cart girl to do a round through the course we were on. She told my colleague that she would let her know then just hung up. Alas no cart girl showed up and we stopped purchasing drinks for our final 9 holes.
So if you golf this course, buy more than 2 rounds of drinks at the start of each half. Over all though, we had a great time.

Shanty Bay is a great value
Shanty Bay is a wonderful course at a very good price. It offers a reasonably challenging layout with tough greens. Excellent condition. Staff are always friendly--just a nice, relaxed atmosphere and a small town club feel with no attitude.
Quick pace with average conditions.
Well worth the price of admission as we got a good rate off of Golfnow.com. Food at the turn was good and fair priced. Beers on the course were also a decent price at $6/tall boy. Fairways were below average with lots of brown spots and dead grass. Greens were in good shape I just thought it was quite different to have sprinkler head in the middle of the green and having the possibility of putting over them. Overall was worth the price and played at a fast pace taking about 3.5 hours for a 3some with a 20 min rain delay.

This course offers 3 9s that give you a change of distance , style and terraine that allows for you to adapt the round to the weather and your game. Very nice place to play!
Great course. Condition was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely will play again.

A quirky course with a goofy layout but the price was right, conditions were fair and the staff was friendly.

pace of play was very good considering there was a mini tournament ahead of us. Club house patio overlooking the course is excellent offering a relaxed atmosphere after our round.
