Disappointing!!
Betty was wonderful when we first arrived. Everything went down hill after that. The course is in very poor condition and the general lay out was terrible!! Needless to say we will not be returning ever.
Lineup and wait.
No Marshall driving around the course to help enforce pace. Greens still in bad shape. Cart paths are bad. Some t-blocks under major repair. Some Fairways are very dried out and tough to hit from. It’s a shame could be 4star.
Won’t be returning for at least a few years.
Great course
By no means am I a pro golfer or expert on courses, but I was a big fan of the course. Bit challenging at first, but enjoyable. Course is in far better condition that it was 1-2 years ago following the flood, staff were all credibly and attentive and the pace of play was perfect (no rush, no back up). Will definitely be returning more often.
Enjoyable day
Course was in really good shape and I have not seen that over the years. Greens were great, fairways were very good too.
Great evening round
Staff were great and friendly, course was in good shape and the wife and I really enjoyed our evening, plus not once did we have to wait on players infront of us which was awesome... After our round the wife and I sat and had a great chit chat with the Marshall for about 20 min and we both left the course with no complaints and will definitely be returning in the near future
Deserves better reviews
I found this course has lower reviews than it deserves on this platform, it’s a great course with fun obstacles, for beginners I advise bringing many golf balls as the obstacles are not forgiving , but overall a great course and possibly my favourite in the area .
Great course to play
It’s a fun course to play, they have some flood damaged fairways but still fun to play.
No discount for online booking
So apparently there was a discount to play there due to poor conditions relating to flooding. When I said we booked online all we received was a giggle from the lady in the pro shop. Also, there is a "convenience fee" additional to the green fee of about 5.00 per person. I was going to ask what this was but after checking in decided not to bring it up. I felt it would have been pointless given the discount discussion.
Otherwise, fair day of golf on a hot day but Golf North never fails to leave you shaking your head. Corporate hospitality at its most generic.
Staff at snack bar
Got a burger that was supposed to be cooked minutes ago that wasn’t hot at all, still had dry grease harden on the burger. Asked for it to be heated and got an attitude about it. Food was overpriced and the burger was not good quality. Also gave a tip before I got my food….. never again at any course till I receive my food. I disagree with the tip option before your food comes to you. We pay for good service and food after we get it.
Brant Valley and GolfNow
First the course. Brant Valley has always had it's challenges with spring floodi, more so in the last 5 years. Consequently a number of non-par 3 holes are cart path only. Fairways are dirt in large areas, mosquitoes are bad in areas. Greens were great and have always been extremely tricky because some sit in shade most of the time and stay damp. So you can go from a very fast green one hole to a slow one next hole making for very challenging putting.
GolfNow, it was my mistake for booking using GolfNow , one which I will not repeat. My advice is to book with Golf North who owns Brant Valley.
