Stittsville Golf Course

Had another great round of golf at Glen Mar. It never fails to exceed our expectations. Thank you!

My wife and I had an enjoyable round of golf with friends from out of town despite of the cool weather condition. The course was still in good shape for this time of year.

There are many doglegs that test your accuracy. It is not a must to drive long, but good positioning is rewarded.

The starter can't keep people on schedule, we were 10-15 min late starting off, then they send groups back-to-back with no space on a demanding hole # 1 par 4 (handicap 1) that plays more like a par 5 for seniors, and you can imagine the rest...a front nine that takes over 2.5 hours. We abondoned after the front 9 since it took 40 min from dowtown Ottawa to reach the course. The greens were so-so and the fairways and tee-boxes are not well maintained. Even the GolfNow discount could not not make up for these shortcomings. We have now faced the same scenario twice in a few weeks, once in the morning and this time in the afternoon. I know they're trying to make up for a difficult season but this way of conducting their business will jeopordize any repeat business potential.

We were the "meat in a sandwich" in our round. The course had an early morning tournament and an afternoon tourney. The course paired us with another twosome and our tee time was pushed back about 10 minutes (originally 11:30). Play was extremely slow. We waited 5-10 minutes at every tee and we left after 5 hours after playing only 16 holes.

Course itself was only in OK shape (greens pretty patchy plus long and slow). All in all, not an enjoyable round of golf.

We would be very leery of going back to Glen Mar again.

Workers were very friendly, will return. Considering membership for next year.

Course in good shape. Many challenging holes with narrow fairways. Also some wide open fairways to let you swing away.

You start on time, which is important.

Location very convenient to city. Would recommend course.

This is the second time playing over a 5 hour round at this course this year. No Marshals in sight, course and greens are in decent shape. The exact time for the round was 5 hours and 27 minutes for 18 holes.

great value for the money. Tight course that challenges all levels of golfers. fairways and greens in great shape.

I was introduced to this golf course by a friend and I truly enjoyed the first experience (walked the first game). Their course condition and greens were in super condition. They cleaned out along the trees and balls can be found most of the time if you're in there. Their Friday chef's dinner is delicious! Black flies were out of this world it that's not the course's fault.

I enjoyed my first game so much that I convinced my spouse to take an afternoon off from work and drive out 60 km. Prior to going, he did a little research on the reviews and noted those who were upset that carts weren't available upon arrival. Carts are "included"when booking on their own page on Golf Now. Sure enough these review and comments hold absolutely true! We had no choice but to leave the course as my spouse cannot walk it. They did not offer to check on when a cart might be available, I.e. Someone driving to the 18 or 17th hole to see if any carts will soon return, etc. Shouldn't they be reserving carts for those booking with carts? If they don't have enough, either remove it from their booking times or purchase some more to fulfill their 'false' advertising.

We were really looking forward to a nice afternoon of golf and dinner after driving that distance to get there. Thanks for wasting our afternoon off from work and gas Glen Mar!

This course is fairly close to Ottawa and easy to get to. Course condition is good - nice grass on fairways and no bare patches, fast greens. Fairly interesting layout with tree-fringed fairways, and some holes crossing creeks. It is busy; both times we were there it was quite slow, the last time taking more than 5 hours. There was a foursome two groups ahead who took their own sweet time, hitting two balls, etc., with an empty hole in front of them.

Challenging course and in very good condition. On most holes straight is good as there's no place to miss it.

I teed off at 11:00 once the dew had dissipated. The conditions were excellent. The weather was sunny with a light breeze to keep us cool. The refreshment cart was very timely and came around just enough.

Have played this course twice this year. Both times it was in excellent shape. Fairly flat so easy to walk (although we had carts). Pace slowed at 6th hole but marshals were quick to address the situation. Not much advantage when playing off the front tees so plays somewhat long for women. Very good value for the price. Will go back.

The course was in good shape, greens were fast, staff was friendly and by booking on golf now the price was fantastic. Hard combination to beat.

Had a great round there this week. Weather & course conditions were excellent! The course is fairly challenging with some interesting holes including the signature 18th horseshoe shaped green. A couple long Par 3's (180 & 190 yds from the whites) ensure that you have to be able to drive accurately in order to score well. Total ydage. from the whites is 6132.

The green were great to putt on. The pace of play was ideal. The starter was friendly and informative warning us about possible ticks and poison ivy in the trees.
It is a beautiful mature course and well cut under the trees so one can locate stray balls easily.

Decent Track, very narrow in places, give-up the driver once in awhile, plenty of dog legs. Nice set of 3 pars. Only real negative....18th green. A narrow horseshoe around a bunker. Difficult to hit. All in all the more you play there.....the better you can manage your way around.

The course has it's challenges (trees, Water, Sand Traps). I find the sand traps in average shape, sand thick and wet which makes it more difficult to hit your ball out, so rather than hit 2 inches behind, it's better to hit one inch behind. I found the grass in the rough a bit deeper than normal where you can loose your ball easily. The fringe on the greens are also thicker than normal which makes putting out of them impossible, better to use your A wedge or S wedge. However it is a fun course to play.

Course was in great shape. Staff is friendly & helpful.
