Average course
First off, clubhouse employees and starter/marshal were fantastic. But the course is in bad shape unfortunately. Tee boxes had little to no grass, and uneven. Could barely find level ground to stand on. Bunkers had no sand, just mud and grass. Terrible. Fairways average. The greens were full of debris, very slow, couldn’t putt properly. Gotta do better than this. I won’t be back this year. Course is in obvious deline.
It's fine
Not happy to find a temporary green on the 8th which will apparently be in play the entire 2025 season, but it was $25 after taxes and fees, win some lose some.
Disappointed with course condition
Played Rolling Hills Challenge recently and was pretty let down. The bunkers were basically unplayable — no sand, just hard-packed dirt. Definitely not what you’d expect from a course trying to attract regular players. The greens were also recently aerated, so they were bumpy and inconsistent. Maybe they’ll be better in a few days, but it made for a frustrating round. Pace of play was really slow too, which didn’t help the overall experience.
To make matters worse, Hole #8 didn’t even have a green — it’s under repair with a small sign saying it’s closed for the season. For a course charging full price, that’s a big letdown.
Hopefully, they get things back in shape soon, but for now, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Bunkers and Tee Boxes
It seems that bunkers are being eliminated to speed up play. Not sure if this is the reason and it probably doesn't speed up play. Removing tall grass in the rough does, and excellent job on doing that. Why not get some students to clean up the bunkers and put some sand back in them. All have a marshall monitor and speed up play as required.
Fix/repair your tee boxes. This is an easy fix. Applying soil and seed is dead easy after relocating a tee box.
Mystic Executive
Pace of play was good for a Saturday.
Greens were in good shape.
Some tricky holes - stay out of the fescue!
Not worth it
Played the challenge course which is fairly easy. The design has central hubs to tee off on various holes which means if players slice they may be playing on your fairway. Bunkers they even try to maintain, fairways feels like it someone's poorly kept lawn. Not for me
