Bethesda Grange Golf Course

No covid screening, at check in they told me to grab a cart which I did when I got to the tee deck the starter then asks if I paid extra for the cart. I told I wasn't told I needed to he instructed me and my playing partner to wait all while he sent the twosome that was paired to go on ahead. Once the cart situation was rectified we went to tee off and the starter then told us we couldn't hit our drives and had to go meet our group. Also the cart we were given died on the second hole! Very unprofessional and disorganized it was a terrible way to start a round of golf. That being said the course conditions were good and pace of play was OK (4hrs 35min).

The price of a beverage on the course is akin to abuse. A reasonable profit is always fair however a 3$ can costs 10$. Thats absolutely ridiculous.

Their golf carts are about a 1000 years old and could definitely use replacement. I had to push sideways on the pedal occaisionally to make the cart go.

So. They make copious amounts of money on beverages, most likely have less staff on than other years thanks to covid, do the minimum of course maintenance and are having the best year they ever had regarding patronage and yet the carts and amenities are at best "Quaint" (used up)

The length, change in elevation and dog-legs featured on many of the holes are a good test of your driving and iron game.

I felt the course was in pretty good shape, a few dry patches in the fairway. The greens were pretty undulating for regular golfers and pin placement also made it quite difficult. The golf course should add 100 and 200 yard stakes., Instead of putting them in the middle of the greens, they should put one on each side of the fairway.

Pace of play was quite slow, 4.5 hrs to play the round.

While I might recommend this course to a friend there would certainly be a big BUT... because

Played with my neighbour. When we arrived at the 1st tee we were asked if we had paid the extra fee for a cart each. We were told that it would be an extra 10$ each so that he could also have a cart.

I have played this course for over 25 years and those are still the same carts from back then. They are junk. To ask extra for a cart that I had already asked for is IGNORANT, especially when they are in such poor shape.

The best solution for the carts is to park them all close together and dynamite the lot.

What a pile of crap!

Not super impressed with the start to my round, Marshall was disorganized and had not planned out a good way to send golfers off which made the first 3 holes a bit of nightmare until groups spread out.

There was hardly a sign on the entire course, including any cart path signs which made it really difficult to know where to drive the golf carts when moving from one hole to the next.

Fantastic day on the course. In great condition and very reasonable price. There was a minor mix up I guess between the course and golfnow, as they somehow double booked my 10 am tee time so I had to miss the first hole to join the group in front that only had two people. Wasn’t a huge deal to me as I was playing by myself, but I could see other people getting upset over that. Other than that, can’t complain at all. Will be back
