Pace of Play
Starter was excellent. Friendly, very organized and informative. Pace of play was horrible. Waited several minutes on every single hole and every shot.
Etiquette I this course is not great. Ball hunters abound here. Simple things like placing your bag at the exit of the hole versus at the front of the the green are foreign.
I do like the layout but the course was not in great shape.
Pace of play
Great pace of play didn't wait for anyone the whole round.
Review
We were put in the middle of the tournament and we were promised rebate which we never received.
Good, fun experience
I grew up playing most Clublink courses around Ontario (Glen Cairn, Caledon Woods, Bondhead, King's Riding), but have been coming to Rolling Hills the past couple years due to my girlfriend picking up the sport. We spent all our time playing the Classic and Challenge course, as they were relatively cheap.
I saw the 4-player promotion for the Labour Day weekend, and decided that I wanted to play a nicer course with the "wife". For the price, I have to say I was quite satisfied. I was a bit weary of this promotion, as some clubs tend to over-book. However, even though the course was fully booked, the marshalls kept the pace of play up quite well. Our round of 4 players (2 relatively new), our round went almost exactly 4.5 hours. We were forced to wait to tee off only a couple times, but never for too long. Excellent job on the pace.
Course conditions were quite good. Little dry patches on the rough and fairway, but overall, in good conditions. I did notice that some of the tee-blocks were quite dry. It took a lot to get some of my tees in the ground! The greens were great. They were rolled the morning we played, and they played fast and true. Was challenging compared to the Classic and Challenge course.
The staff were relatively friendly. I find it's always a hit-and-miss at any course. Pro-shop staff seemed bored, waiter's slow even though there were only a few seats taken. Marshalls were good overall. I find the variety is apparent here. Sometimes, we get the most charismatic, kind marshalls. Other times, we get the most senile, grumpy marshalls known to man. Didn't affect any of my golf game, so this point is sort of null.
Overall had a good experience at the course and would come again.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Booked golf - get there - they offer a special upgrade -
includes earlier time - golf shirt - golf balls and lunch for a an extra 32 dollars per player .
We accept -- marshal sees us on 4th hole - asks for names - says we are not on tee sheet - we explain we upgraded to their promotion - angry demeanor --- leaves --- comes back after next hole - tells us to go back to club house ---manager give us refund tells us to keep promotional balls ---
never will go back
Busy course
Course in great shape. The course layout concerns me. Lots of stray balls from other course and holes can be dangerous
An enjoyable course to play
The staff are always friendly and accommodating at this course. The layout is fairly challenging with a good mix of par 5s, 4s and long par 3s. The course is well kept and the off course amenities are great. I would definitely recommend this course!
Good but very slow
We had a good round but it was very slow. Beverage cart was oblivious to golf ettiquette. Drove cart by us while swinging.
NIce overall
Enjoyed the game in this course on a very nice day. Well designed and maintained. The only hiccup was at the 18th hole. It was getting dark and hard to find where to go. It seems two courses are crossing and did not align with the map. Map shows it is straight however 18th hole was left curved. Hope the map is corrected soon so that golfers will have good impression when the game finish.
Cheers!
