About
Built by Leon Howard in the 1960s, this course is typical of his design approach: a fun, basic course that’s not too difficult. The course is open to the public and the best time to play is during the week, when you’ll often find that you’re one of the only golfers on the course. A fairly open course, the fairways and bent-grass greens are always in excellent condition and the staff is unbelievably friendly.
Getting there : From I-20 east, take Hwy 19 north then drive a short distance to the course. The clubhouse is on the north side of the street.

Good place play but slow pace.
Enjoyed my round . Played front nine by myself in one hour. Back nine was slow due to foursome ahead. Will play here again if I get good deal again on cost. Regular prices here to high for this course.
Great Day of Golf
We were fortunate to have booked a t time for early Saturday morning. We showed up almost an hour too early, but they let us go right on out.
We played at a really nice pace and played through a two some that was in front of us.
Eighteen holes in about three hours. There are some really long holes for this old guy, but there are others that a short too. Great fairways, greens and staff.

GolfNow Bargain
I got a tee time for myself and two friends. We showed up at the course about an hour early and they let us start right away. The staff was great and they give us a quick overview of the course and we were on our way.
Three hours later, we were heading home. Great course, plenty challenging for us old guys. I will be back.

Great course
Course was wide open. Weather was great!! Greens were awesome and fairways cut. Worth the drive & the money.
Same ole same ole
This is a municipal course at best. Club house staff not friendly, every single ball cleaner had zero water in them, bathrooms were not clean and the ponds looked like if your ball went in, it surly melted. I suggest Garden Valley. The $30 price is way to much on a weekday for this course.
Excellant greens
Have played this course many times and the greens were in the best conditions of all. Great course

The Van Zandt Country Club is a great place to play. The course is fair, very well-maintained, and pace of play is fast. The Staff is super friendly and always very welcoming. Love playing this course.
