Corsicana Country Club
About
This links-style course features wide fairways. The golfer will rarely play from a flat lie due to the contour of the fairways. Water hazards (a pond and a lake) come into play on at least seven holes. The green on hole 18, a 403-yard par 4, is the only green not surrounded by sand bunkers. The men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 76.9 and a slope of 136.
Designed by A.W. Tillinghast in 1914 during his Texas swing, thus is a links-style course with tree-lined fairways built around a large lake. Amid the rolling hills and oak trees you’ll find few level lies. No. 2 is a tough par 3 at 225 yards over water and a green surrounded by bunkers.
Getting there : From I-45 south, take Exit 31 and turn right onto Beaton St.. Look for the signs to the course.

Probably one of the worst shape courses in Texas
The greens were essentially unplayable and the grass was so tall even in fairways that balls we’re lost.
Course Closed | I need a refund
Course closed, even though nothing online stated it was. I purchased a GN deal and no where did it say they had “temporary” greens due to their original greens being completely terrible, or that they were closed… terrible business. How do I get a refund?
Worst course I’ve ever been to
The staff was extremely friendly, however, the conditions of this course were horrendous. By far the worst course I’ve ever played. The layout was great but other than that, there’s not much there
I am so sorry for the state the course is in right now. We are at the point now where we are in the process of redoing our greens GolfNow will be shut down for the rest of the summer but on September first the greens should be redone by then and the next rounds on us.
Really rough…
Staff is awesome. Course is in really rough condition right now though. Greens are essentially unplayable.
Hopefully they can get it back in order this spring.
Sorry for the state the course in is in right now and we are currently in the process of redoing our greens. GolfNow is currently going to be shut of for the summer by September 1st the greens should be in play would love to have you back out.
Terrible Conditions
Very kind staff, decent facilities, but not a golf course. 0/10 would not recommend.
We are very sorry for the state we are in. right now, we are in the process of redoing our greens and making them better. We are going to shut down GolfNow for the rest of the summer until September 1st so that when it comes back the greens are in play.
Not woth the money
Greens are in horrible shape. Fairways are decent. Some holes are confusing on direction.
Caught up to a 2some that where really slow, waited a few minutes for them to get off a green, then had to wait while one used the restroom at his cart. So we jumped a hole in front of them.
Sammons City course, Temple TX
Nice City course.
Staff was great, explained things may b e a little slow due to an earlier tournament backing things up a bit. I appreciate information like that. I think we all understand, and it makes playing somewhere new a little more relaxing.
Nice clean well maintained electric carts.
Lake water around a lot of the course and a little breezy.
Corsicanna First time, hour North of Waco
few greens need some TLC. I may play this course again, hoping for some water on the course. The Pro Shop was very nice and friendly. Makes a difference when you are playing out of town.
This course could be a gem with some extra love and care. The layout is good and the pace of play is good. The greens in some areas are burned up and the rough is out of control. If you do not hit your ball in the fairway it’s lost. Everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. They continue to make improvements to the course and I hope they are able to turn the corner. I try to play here at least once a month. It is very quiet and peaceful and a good place to escape for a couple hours.
Solid course
Greens could be in better condition but overall solid. Not a ton of water that comes into play but provides some nice obstacles. Some bunkers could use some attention, fairways were nice and all par 3s are fun to play.
Fun round of golf
Nice course. It was a bit dry and some of the greens had burnt spots. Overall, good round.
Not worth it unless you’re local
Greens are terrible, bare spots filled with sand. Bunkers are also terrible, need sand and maintenance. Fairways and rough blend together. Ant mounds everywhere so watch where you step. Navigating parts of the course is tricky as there aren’t any signs and finding the correct blue tee boxes was a bit of a search. Used the map on the scorecard to help navigate. No bev cart the entire round. Distances to green are either not clearly marked or not visible anymore due to poor maintenance (luckily had my rangefinder). Probably was nicer many decades ago, but too many issues nowadays.
It's an older course, but it checks out.
This is one of the "Private Access" courses that really shouldn't be. Beautiful land, not many people playing, good food, friendly staff. The course conditions were questionable, fairway grass was about as deep as the rough in most places. Quite a few of the greens were more sand than grass, and some of the bunkers were more grass than sand. Very hilly course, which makes it more about precision than power. Overall, not terrible, but most public courses are in better shape.
I'm so sorry for confusion, we had withdrawn our tee time availability for the rest of the summer but somehow GolfNow allowed you to make a tee time. You can contact GolfNow for your refund. However if you are in the area after September first we would be happy to subtract from what you paid for your green fees. By that time our new greens will be in play.
