About

From the tips, Kings Creek can play particularly tough because of the prevailing winds off the shores of Cedar Creek Lake. However, on calm days this course can be had, since the layout is fairly basic and features water on only six holes. In the late 1980s, the course became known for its improving condition, and that reputation has held true over the years.

The front nine is shorter and a little easier than the front, its toughest hole being the 200 -yard No. 3 over water. No. 14 typifies the longer back: a 576-yard marathon with water on either side of the fairway.

Getting there : From Dallas, take I-175 south, then turn right on Hwy. 274. The course is 2 miles down the road.

Such a shame

I played this course several times about 2 years ago and it was Great! Today it was no better than a cow pasture. Dying grass, fire ant beds, dead fish in the water hazards... just really sad to see how the course has gone downhill.

The course needs water on the fairways. We lost a golf ball in one of the numerous cracks in the middle of one of the fairways on the back nine! Ouch!

going downhill quickly

I took my 8 year old grandson and I to play on a Thursday afternoon. The charge was $75 for a child and a senior. When I question the cashier, was told prices go up. We were behind an older 4sum, who was taking 30 minutes a hole having conversations after finishing a hole before moving on. Since they have no Marshall, had to skip holes. The fairways were half sand and hardpan and grass. Cart paths were undriveable on the back nine. Thankfully, it started raining and we quit and did not have to finish the round. Many nicer courses around for this price
