Stonebrooke Golf Club - Waters Edge Executive Course

We had such a great time at Stonebrooke! The course is absolutely beautiful. Between the lakes, trees, wildlife, and all the amazing scenery, there was always something to look at—even when I was supposed to be concentrating on my golf game! 😂

The course itself was challenging but a lot of fun. Everything was beautifully maintained and very clean.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. The pace of play was good for most of the round, although we did slow down a bit once we got to the ferry.

Between the beautiful scenery, wildlife, challenging layout, and great conditions, Stonebrooke is definitely a course we'd love to play again. Five stars from us! ⛳️🏌️‍♀️🌲

One of the best public courses close to the Twin Cities. Very friendly staff, top amenities (electric carts with GPS, free water, convenient driving range parking, free driving range balls). Amazing layout of the course with many water/ponds challenges and beautiful nature around. Good grass and greens conditions. All over 5 stars!

1. They price each round based on a “demand pricing” algorithm, so you have no firm understanding of your green fees until you make a reservation.

2. To make a reservation you are directed to do so online which requires pre-paying for all golfers in your tee time group, and it’s up to you to collect each player’s fees…Stonebrooke doesn’t collect fees from each golfer in your group the day of play like virtually all other Twin Cities courses.

3. Maintenance on the course is minimal, and it shows in terms of the condition of many greens, fairways, and cart paths…not close to their premium course pricing. After many rounds over several years, it is extremely rare to ever encounter any maintenance crews actually doing work on the course, again unlike other courses at their price point.

4. When you try to contact Stonebrooke by phone, the reception by whoever answers is very unpredictable, sometimes very courteous, sometimes very clipped and indifferent…obviously little attention to customer service training.

5. If, heaven forbid, that you ever have to cancel a member of your “prepaid foursome,” good luck. We had to cancel 1 of our 4some a day ahead of the tee time and tried to do so twice. Both times we were assured by phone that the cancellation had happened, but when the three remaining members showed up a day later, Stonebrooke required that we pay for all four in the original reservation. After strong objections, Stonebrooke eventually did reverse the 4th player’s fees, but it required the pro shop to contact “Harry” (apparently the general manager) and therefore couldn’t be quickly resolved by the pro shop staff. I’m still waiting for the adjustment to my credit card.

6. Although the course is very walkable, there is no option to avoid the cart rental fee even if you walk.

7. After a round, you cannot drive your golf cart to your parked car to schlepp your clubs back into your vehicle.

8. Last time we golfed we got stuck behind a slow foursome, essentially a hole behind pace of play…even the GPS screen showed us as being 12 minutes behind, yet no ranger ever showed up all day to improve pace of the slow group.

9. No beverage/snack cart service on the course during most recent Stonebrooke round, despite pricing at premium course level.

10. If you compare available prime time tee times at Stonebrooke to all other mid to up-scale courses, you’ll notice that Stonebrooke usually has plenty of available tee times while comparable courses are full. The above 9 factors probably the reason. Stonebrooke is the least customer-centered golf course in its category in the Twin Cities. Avoid!

Some blind shots but over all good course, would recommend to anyone looking to play a round.

Overall very happy with this course. Staff was friendly and the ferry on Hole 8 is one of a kind. The staff cleaning our clubs at the end of our round was a nice treat to show their appreciation. Will definitely be golfing here next time I'm in Minnesota

Really enjoyed this course. Many blind shots but beautifully designed. Especially enjoyed the starter and the boat captain that ferries the golf carts across the lake to complete the round!

Decent course to play for the money, but each time I’ve played here my group has always been asked to speed things along, even though there’s not room in front of us to go much faster. The starting marshal told our group that they’ll book tee times 5 minutes between each other just to get more people on the course. That does not allow enough time for a foursome to play behind another foursome at a decent pace while also being pushed from the twosome (which teed off no more than 5 minutes) behind us.

Stonebrooke is a fun course and always in great shape. I have always been treated well and feel the staff are very attentive and welcoming. Each hole has its own set of challenges and let you hit every club in your bag. I try to play out here as many times as I can during the season.

Stonebrook is best known for its pontoon boat on the 8th hole but you have to put up with a lot before getting there. The staff here seems to think golf is not a game but something much more serious. I did not see one staff person smile the whole time I was there. Come-on folks, it's golf it's supposed to be fun.

The course is in OK shape. The greens generally putt pretty true and are mowed to a good speed. Most of the cart paths need work. The 2 biggest gripes I have about this course is their rule that you cannot bring carts into the parking lot and their decision not to have any water available on the course. These are both dumb rules and reflect the strict attitude displayed by everyone. Too bad. This could be a great golf experience if they would lighten up a little.

Played here several times over the years. This is near my house and some friends drag me over on occasion. There are many better options within 25 minutes of this layout. Nearly every hole is poor from tee to green in design. Staff is arrogant and thinks they are running Pebble Beach. If you are from out of town or have other options, I would stay away.

Stonebrooke is a good mid-level course with some unique challenges and holes. At the right price, it is a good value. I'd rate it 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5.

I usually play the course 2 or more times per year and what I've found is once you hit July, the course conditions are not as good (fairways and greens in rough shape, greens very bumpy, etc.) as they are in the beginning of the year.

Overall, it can be a good value if you get it at the right price, but don't expect the course conditions to be one of the best you play on all year.

Not worth for money and this course was not managed well.

Stonebrooke is a wonderful golf course with nteresting holes and feature. The eighth hole plays over a lake and gives the player options to take a boatride to the other side or drive around on the cartpath. That's fun and adds interest. The clubhouse and restaurant are equally impressive with a well-appointed outdoor patio complete with firepit. Restaurant offers wonderful views of the course.

This wonderful club is tainted by poor staffing selections. Club and restaurant management are dissmissive, unfriendly and unhelpful.

A course noted for a few signature holes but overall a good course that can play tough. Again this year the 1st time I played this course it was in very good shape but was a little beat up a month later. only a good value and rating if in top shape as its not cheap. super nice clubhouse setting but I feel you pay alot in greens fees for that.
