Golfer Reviews
Great course for players age 65 and up
This course is very strict with its rules. The majority of players are older and playing from the senior Tees, so you will get pushed a lot as they are essentially playing a par 3 course. Heavily wooded so if you slice or draw leave the driver at home. Lots of leaves and cotton so it can be tricky to find your ball in the rough. It is almost always cart path only. But sometimes they allow 90°. But you still pay full price for cart fee which is ridiculous. It’s a fun course as it’s one of the only courses in the area with tree rows and dog legs. With that I’d bring some extra balls.
AI golf carts suck!
They’re a little to much over control with AI. We met someone who lost their cellphone on the previous hole. No way to go back with cart to look. If emergency happened on hole 2, you would have to complete your round to get help. Think about it!
Riverwood Golf Course 8/15/2023
The course was in excellent shape today. Some bunkers had a little water but all had playable lies. The pace was quick, the second cut rough in as drier and easier to hit from. The tee boxes were cleaned nicely and the greens are in good shape. The weather was perfect! Food and beverage service in the club house is so efficient I don’t lose any time at the turn. For a public course this one is hard to beat!
Beautiful Course & amazing staff.
Beautiful course with a wonder staff. The only complaint is booking on GolfNow. We had trouble adding 2 more players and accidentally bought extra rounds trying to change the reservation. GolfNow refused to refund the difference.
Again, nothing against the course or staff. The golf was amazing. GolfNow is our absolute last option for booking coursss from now on.

Riverwood Golf Course 8/11/2023
I booked a 9:03 tee time. There was an event scheduled at the same time greatly impacting the pace of play. The conditions are excellent! The bunkers have dried out after several days of rain. Many of the tees are being maintained and have been moved slightly making the yardage on the scorecard and signage a little off but nothing that would impact overall score much. Overall, Riverwood is an excellent public course, picturesque with a lot of wildlife to be seen.
Riverwood Goof Course 7/24/23
I played mid morning. The course was pretty wet but well groomed. The longer holes have a lot of leaves in the rough making it easier to lose balls if you don’t hit straight. The carts take a bit to get used to, it helps a lot to play along the cart path. Otherwise prepare to walk more than expected. The beverage cart is well stocked and has he staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
Slow pace, cotton covering the fairways.
Pace of play was terrible. If I had to guess they were letting people tee off every 6-7 minutes which just isn't enough time. Every hole past hole 1 was atleast a 12 minute wait to tee off. Took me 2 hours 40 minutes to play 9 holes.
This time of year is hard to play Riverwood with a white ball and there should be some kind of warning. Cotton covers every fairway and it's very hard to locate your ball.
Beautiful cotton wood trees
This course has a nice layout with a lot of dog legs. Most holes are lined with cottonwood trees which are challenging. Playing from the back tees makes this course more fun for the better players.
Handicapped
The carts have a Geo fence and they can't modify the computer if you are handicapped. They will allow a rider to take a special cart but they were disabled.
1st time here
Nice staff. Trees make it a tough course… greens were in good shape.
