Do not spend your money several fairways closed My guess is it will take several months to a year to get the course into play able condition

Drove an hour & 1/2 to play 18 holes, booked 2 days prior with no mention of golf tournament or fairways under repair. That being said, played front 9 with 3 holes under repair. At turn grabbed a sandwich & drink, returned to course (after clearing it with the marshal) waited for group ahead of us to walk to the green, then proceeded to tee off, as the group ahead putted out. After we teed off, we were chaotically approached by the “course coordinator” & were told to pick up our balls to allow the group 2 holes behind us that were a part of the tournament to play through. After explaining to the “ course director” that we were cleared by the very nice Marshall to proceed he responded with follow me he doesn’t have the the authority to tell you to proceed because “I’m the course director.” So, we decided to leave the course, after only 9 holes, and the “course director” proceeded to be VERY rude (yelling) while we were loading up. I would rather spend my money at a putt putt than go to that course again.

Course lay out is a great challenge. Conditions could have been a little better. A couple holes were reduced to Par3 due to construction. Over all a great experience. Staff was super welcoming and friendly.

I've played here several times and this was the first time seeing it in this shape. There should be a disclosure when booking here of how poor the condition is. I believe it was hole 5 that the fairway was completely cordoned off. It was nothing but iron ore rock and red clay. You had to play the hole as a very short par 3. There were several fairways that had piles of plugs from aerating the greens. My ball was resting against these piles on numerous occasions. I received a message on my cart asking if I wanted to replay the front 9 twice due the holes 16-18 not having pins. Surely a place of this price has a few extra pins in storage. This used to be a really beautiful place but has gone down hill dramatically in the past year. I wish I would've taken pictures.

Tempest has the potential but needs a lot of work. Prices are fair during the week.

The golf pro/Marshall meet us at our cart and gave up tips and explained the current situations. Very polite and courteous. The course is absolutely gorgeous. As our first visit, we will be back.

The sand traps were terrible. Grass growing in them. Fairways. Grass in terrible condition. Greens were good.

Fairway repair is required, but overall it is an excellent golf course.

I had read so much about this course I was thrilled to play it. In the last month I have played 3 local courses that were in better shape. I can tell it was once a grand place. It is not currently in that condition. Hopefully it recovers as I like the layout.

Unfortunately, the greens are about the only thing that is in good shape (with the exception of 10 and a couple of the tiered greens). Fairways are about 50/50 dirt/grass and some tee boxes are just dirt. Pace of play was pretty terrible. We called the day before to see if we could run a 5some and were told no due to pace of play, which is fine. We get to the first for our 8:20 tee time and can see two 5somes already out ahead of us. We get to 13 and get approached by a Marshall to let us know we are 27 minutes behind pace. I said ya I know, it’s been pretty slow. He goes on to tell me he needs us to pick it up pretty aggressively and I asked him if I was supposed to hit down on the guys currently putting on the green we were waiting to hit into and he drove off and just kept saying ok. He had literally just driven past them. Really weird encounter, bad taste in our mouths and we won’t be coming back, especially not for $110. Sucks because it could be a top 10 public course in Texas again with the right resources.

Greens in excellent condition. Fairways are good as well but inconsistent. Challenging course for all players.
