Tempest Golf Club

This course was like playing golf in a pasture. Cart paths were in good condition, nice club house and good greens but the fairways were awful. The water coolers on the course were empty but you see the beer girls regularly.

You needed a hammer to tee up your ball on the tee boxes. This is certainly not a $100 weekday gold course.

Course is a really great design and layout! Loved playing. The course was a little beat up, due to apparent changes in Greenskeeper. I have no doubt they will get this resolved and the course will be amazing

For the money you pay to play a nice course… 68.00. Course was in horrible shape!

Challenging but absolutely a joy to play. Each hole has its own challenges, so you must be on top of your game. Will humble you very fast. Challenge accepted!

Made a day trip from the DFW. The course layout is great - very interesting! Coming out of winter, the course has some rough patches in many of the fairways. The greens were relatively slow, but was pleasantly surprised that there were very few ball marks. They have done a good job with the greens. Overall, very pleased with the value. Burgers in the restaurant are good! Will return.

This course is a hidden gem in East Texas…With Tempest being NON PRIVATE, you can enjoy your game and settle in to Neptunes and see the hospitality side…The staff will bring your day to a pleasant close…Come prepared to return.

The greens were in thin condition

They putted little slow but they held shots and putted true.

The tee boxes and fairways were firm considering the amount of rain recently in the area. Idk if the fairway has is still dormant but I expected the course to be a little greener and softer for this time in April. Over all I really do enjoy this course and the layout. Played on a Monday so it wasn't too busy but did get held up some in the back 9. Also the GPS on the 2 carts that I tried didn't work. The one I used said every hole I played was 999 yards.

Best course in East Texas. Tee boxes are great, Fairways are great and of course the Greens are fantastic!!!

This is one of my favorite courses to play but there is no course monitor monitoring pace of play and the times are way too close together because Randy Wade just wants to make as much money as he can regardless of how it might affect the players.

Hard to beat tempest - hats off to the grounds crew for keeping this place in superb condition.

Nice courses, nice people, but….When i made the tee time they didnt tell me there was a tournament going off in front of us. When i got there they told me they had to move my tee time back 1/2 hour because of the tournament, but “they were playing at a good pace”. First Red flag, but i had my grandsons with me and they wanted to play. Finally teed off and played the first two holes at a “reasonable” if not quick pace (30 minutes for 2 par 4s). Then we waited 50 (not a typo) minutes on the 3rd tee while 5 groups that were backed up teed off. After that we only waited for one group on every tee, until we finished 9, when we quit. If i hadn’t bee playing with my grandsons it would have been the worst golfing experience of my life. So, good course, but check to see if there is a tournament going on when you arrange for a tee time.

A little course knowledge helps the score but it’s always a pleasure to play Tempest.
