Eagle Ridge Golf Club offers three nine-hole courses: the Ridge, the Pines, and the Links. The Pines and the Ridge are the original layout at the club, built over a former sand and gravel quarry. The original designer was asked to create a third nine, the Links, on the adjacent property. The golf course has the same pinelands character that the original layout has but as its name would imply, the layout has a more traditional links-design that offers a different set of challenges from the other two courses. The rolling landscape has many elevation changes formed by a variety of bluffs, cliffs, and ridges. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play throughout. In addition to the 27 holes of championship golf, Eagle Ridge also offers a driving range and putting and chipping greens.

Nice course even with the changes

Eagle Ridge has changed a lot over the past year or so. The current 18 holes were in very nice condition for this time of the year. You may need help from the starter to get from 9 green to 10 tee but overall a great day out on the course.

New Layout due to sold land

The new layout is a mess compared to playing Eagle Ridge in the past. Almost seems like they sold their best 9-holes and didn't consider the new course route until now. Staff said they may changing the layout again.

Not sure Eagle Ridge is worth the price until they figure that out.

Consider alternatives until renovation complete

Layout is clumsy. The greens were aerated, it was cart path only, but didn’t seem wet. gps system didn’t work great and it was hard to find a sprinkler head with yardage, gps on cart is also in an awkward position mounted to the dash right behind the drink holder, several yardages incorrect on the gps system, several holes not coming up correctly, geofencing notices on par 3s that would not move off, causing you to use the card yardages, carts in spots would also shut down and make you back up (“you are in a restricted area” even though your on the cart path), bunkers were low on sand and very rocky, temp scorecards in place, cart path signs are hand written with temp paths in place, (all of which should be expected given the fact that this course is going through a layout change and working through renovation kinks….but what isn’t is the price tag $138 + tax. In my opinion there are better options in the area in the $80-$100 range that are in great shape. I’m going to wait until everything is ironed out before I consider returning, but am very skeptical that it will get to a point where the price matches the experience. On a positive note fairways were nice, length of holes felt good, and overall it is a very scenic spot and you don’t feel like you are carved out a housing development so I do feel there is a lot of potential to be a nice course in the area, but time will tell if the investments are made in the right areas.

Good luck - I’m hoping it gets a lot better out there

First Round After Ridge 9 Demolition

New layout blends the pine and links courses. It's not 9 links and then 9 pine holes or vice versa, it's a blend of the two courses every 2 or 3 holes which is a little odd but offers a unique experience. Giant sandwall where the ridge course used to be offers a crazy backdrop to hit towards on several holes. Overall course was in great condition and will be back.

CPO but there’d been a lot of rain.

The course was in great shape. We played the day after the non Nor’easter and finished in under 4 hours even with cart path only.

Great place to play

Fantastic course even though they lost 9 holes. I do only play when I can get in for under $80. Always great shape and challenging.

Took away 9 holes

No longer a 27 hole course, only 18 as they paved the land to make room for more housing. Course was very wet, which was strange as it had not rained that much the night before. May be drainage issues with the new construction...

Don’t play here

I used to love evil Ridge, and it’s such a shame. The course felt like it was a course that was discovered in the middle of the wood somewhere. The tea boxes are completely trashed. The fairways had huge tickets all over as if it was being aerated by enjoying airing machine. The greens had divots on them absolutely waste of money.

Ok but pricey.

Many blind shots. Unnecessary cart path only holes. Tee boxes were at times slanted. They should reduce the price.

Over priced

It's an interesting and challenging course and was in decent condition but I got an overall feel that the place is in decline . There were no ball washers or water anywhere on the course. The flags on the greens were old and shredding in some cases. And a weird thing happened. Two young women, clearly not playing were walking through the course. This is never allowed. There are so many good courses in Monmouth county. I won't be coming back here.
