Lakewood Country Club

Had a great experience playing Lakewood Golf Course! The layout offers a fun mix of holes—a few present a solid challenge depending on your game, but overall it’s wide open, very playable, and in fantastic shape.

​The upkeep throughout the facility is top-tier: smooth cart paths, beautifully maintained fairways, and pristine greens that roll true. As a major bonus, being able to walk right over to Maggie's outdoor bar after 18 holes for a cold beer and lunch makes the entire outing complete.

​From the easy setup to the final round, I’d highly recommend this course to any golfer in the area!

Course in good condition, bunkers could use more sand, greens were good speed and smooth.

I found a great Hot Deal on GolfNow for a Saturday round, so I decided to give this course a try for the first time despite the long drive.

Overall, I'd give the course itself about 3 stars. Everyone I interacted with, from the pro shop to the course staff, was very friendly and welcoming.

The biggest downside was the pace of play. We teed off around 2 PM and didn't finish until almost 7 PM. While waiting at the first tee, I noticed players ahead hitting four or five tee shots, which pretty much set the tone for the rest of the round. The pace was extremely slow.

There also seemed to be quite a few beginners, both at the driving range and on the course. It's a perfectly fine place for a casual round if you live nearby, but I don't think the course itself is special enough to justify a long drive.

I'm glad I tried it, especially for the Hot Deal price, but given the distance and slow pace, I probably wouldn't make the trip again.

Fun golf at the Jersey shore. Course is well kept. Challenging but fair. Great outdoor tiki bar and food. Perfect summer course.

Fairways and putting greens in great shape. Some of the holes a bit odd, could be because of the course age, as some of the holes seem to merge together. Lots of modulations on greens that can make putting somewhat challenging. Overall a very good course.

It was my first time at this venue and I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in excellent condition. I was paired up with a threesome who were very nice and we had a pleasant afterrnoon. I would play this course again. The back nine was more difficult but very interesting.
