Perry Park Golf Resort - Buckskin Course

First and foremost the food and service at the resort was awesome! I’ve gotta get that out of the way as they really made the trip for me.

As far as the courses go I really liked the layouts. 27 holes of parkland golf on bent grass fairways and greens is a strong place to start. The course did leave some to be desired in the grooming department. The greens were painfully slow and patchy. This would be my biggest gripe about the course. Some of the fairways had big patches of tall grass in them. Lots of clover in the rough. Neither the tall grass in the fairway or clover in the rough is that big of a deal but worth mentioning. Sand was firm and thin in most spots. I loved the 9th hole on whitetail. It was a beautiful par 3. Antlers was my favorite 9 of the bunch. I’d recommend most play the blue tees. The white are too short.

The staff and amenities can’t be beat. The weekend every year I look forward to starting in January. The course was still in good shape although a little extra watered in Some I'm sure was to keep from losing the grass on such hot days. Perry Park never disappoints our group! Five stars all around.

Course has 27 holes with Buckakin 9 being the newest. Course has half of the holes playing over hilly terrain and half through the flatter terrain near the river. Course is well worth the play if in the area.

I have no comments to make about hotel issues on a golf website as I did not stay there.

Prior to committing to a 4 day stay, I called the resort to ask how it would handle coronavirus concerns, especially how meals would be handled. I was told there would be no buffet line, a waitress would take and serve orders at my table, masks would be required, social distancing would be required, etc. At the very first meal, there was a buffet line to go through with guests telling staff food choices and filled plates handed to guests at end of buffet line. No plastic shields between guests and buffet food. A guest two places ahead of me was not wearing a mask. I reminded staff the guest should be wearing a mask. The staff member said yes and did nothing to enforce the rule. (Same thing happened in pro shop a couple of days later.) I left the restaurant and did not eat one meal there my entire stay.

This was my third straight year in the mansion and for the third straight year my room’s shower was and remained virtually useless even though I have notified management early in each visit. At least I was able to shower in the clubhouse locker room this trip.

Though I love the three nine hole courses and the golf course staff, I do not plan to return a fourth time.

Our Group has played Perry Park , Kentucky for 10 Plus years. Now that we have aged into our 70"s along
with a large percentage of their clientele, we find it
interesting that Perry Park still has not established
Senior Tee Markers. Several of us are using the
Ladies red tees as our senior tee markers. In an
effort to emjoy the game , we feel that Perry Park
establishing senior tees would be a very positive
move for their older customer base.

Overall course - staff and accommodations are great

However, our group has noticed a difference in the
quality of food the last few years.

As for the (3) Nines, we would prefer to start
1st day round on Antlers or Whitetail and limit
Buckskin to (1) round during our stay

12 of us stayed in the Palmer and Nicklaus house. All amenities are great ! Only one negative from both houses is the lighting is very poor at night. Livingroom had one lamp with no bulb and dining light too dim to play cards. Kitchen needs better lighting!
Bedrooms need overhead lights. Bathrooms were nice and bright!!

We still would recommend for stay and play anytime. We are going back!!

If you are going to Perry Park try to include this 9 (they have 27 holes) Newer and creative layout with challenging greens.

In good shape. I'd go play it again

Course was in fairly good shape. Some burnout in the fairways due to hot temperatures and standing water but not bad. Rough, tees and greens in good shape. I'd go play it again.

I love Perry Park. They do an excellent job overall. The course is in good condition for as much play as it gets. I would recommend to anyone to try it out.

Perry does need to update their non-course amenities. Their beds are old and dated. They still have tube TVs in the bed rooms, albeit we don’t spend much time there. A few updates will make this place top notch!

I have nothing bad to say about courses
We have been going for years and stay in Hogan house. Over the years this house shows some need for upgrade (carpet coming up,etc)
Years past the dining has been great but last 2 years it has been terrible. dont know what happen but food is not like it use to be and selection also not up to par.. When we pay our price we r pectin a better service
we will come back sometime but for now we will explore other courses packages

My group and I have been coming to Perry Park for about 20 years. It is the best stay and play we have been too. The course is challenging, and the food and accommodations are excellent. Will be back there again the end of May..

This course is a very nice course and is in a great location for 27 holes. The staff was very friendly and the pace of play was great. There were 3 things that our group didn’t really care for. We got there early to hit off the range and the range was closed, the rough is extremely thick and very hard to hit out of, and it was cart path only and trust me you don’t ever want to walk this course. The course wasn’t wet enough in our opinions to have it cart path only but we made it work. Course is in great shape and fairways and greens all played very well. Also saw a lot of wildlife. This course is great and we will certainly be back to enjoy another 27 hole trip.

I have been going down to Perry Park for 10 years now, absolutely love it, great staff and great amenities. We have a group of 8 guys that go down every year and stay in the Hogan house, we will go nowhere else. if you love peace and nature, its the perfect place to go. Having 27 holes makes it a plus also.

This was my first time playing here and I will be back. Perry Park is a hidden gem that is I had heard of before, but had never made the trip up there. It was well worth it. This course is beautiful and is very enjoyable to play. It has a unique layout with 27 holes, with a few holes that are very spaced out between green and next tee box. However, that doesn’t take away from the uniqueness. Each set of 9 holes provides a different challenge. I highly recommend this course.

THIS IS A SUPER NICE LIL SPOT ..LARGE GREENS LOTS OF WILDLIFE TO SEE REALLY COOL COURSE..

Played all 27 holes @ Perry park in the past week green a little slow but early in season fairways are great keep the ball out of the rough or plan on hunting for your ball always love playing there.
