Great value, great staff and a challenging course
I believe this is one of the best budget courses in the city. Greens are fantastic, layout is good and the rest of the course is in above average shape.
Course has good practice facilities and a nice club house.
I personally believe this course shines with its employees. They are always friendly and welcoming.
My only complaint would be pace of play. Now it can be a challenging course if you don't play that much so that has some to do with it. But groups just will not let you play through.
First time playing, and it will be my last.
Course was in OK condition, but some of the holes are a joke. It was so backed up on the Back 9 that we decided to quite after 12 holes. Pretty disappointing.
Excellent and challenging
I've heard negative reviews in the past... however, I've played this course for 7+ years and found the entire facility, to include the excellent staff, to be Outstanding... sometimes in the Midwest the weather is not conducive to maintaining a golf course, i.e. excessive heat 100+ temps, arid conditions or excessive rain etc.
However, I've found the maintenance crew to be Excellent in dealing with these conditions and they go out of their way to not obstruct my playing time... they cease watering, or move out of the line of fire when I'm attempting a shot etc....
Furthermore, the price/value is incomparable to anywhere in the Nation !! I've become a member of the course and found no better value anywhere.... perhaps some of the displeasure comes from the 'difficulty' of the course? It will challenge your shot making ability as well as your fitness level as there are few 'flat areas' on the course... plentiful wildlife and bluffs, creeks and wooded areas.... bring your A game... jmo...
Grand Summit is a memorable experience
Played this course when the fairways are still dormant and greens were already fast and slippery slopes. I will definitely be back, more than just once or twice. The day before I played Creekmoor, which isn't far away and it is more than twice as expensive and seems like twice as challenging. I would rather play Grand Summit
Great course but challenging
The course was in great condition for the winter play. Be prepared to learn course management, as the degree of slope of the fairways demand total concentration.
Grand Summit- the 'summit' of golf in south Kansas City
You need to be accurate off the tee- especially on the back 9 and have your "A" game with the 'flat stick' because the greens can be- and are- challenging!
Lots of blind shots
Looking forward to the next round now that I'm familiar with the layout.
T'was fun
While it was a crazy hot and humid day, it was a lot of fun. My son and I ended up being paired with two other golfers, by chance, and it was very fun. The staf was awesome, the price very fair, and the GPS carts were awesome too. well except for the cart yelling at us for being off the cart part!!! :)
Grand Summit Golf
We teed off at 8:30 am and we're done at 12:15 pm. Great pace of play for a Saturday morning (not sure if this was abnormal). Course was in great shape and enough difficulty for all levels of golfers. I will definitely go play this course again.
Beautiful and challenging course
Beautiful and challenging course... The staff was very friendly and helpful, the course was in great shape. Enjoyed my day .
First Time Venture
Course was nice for the time of the year. Very hilly which made the challenging. Was wanting to play this course for a long time -- but never did - got the chance because of hot deals on golf now.
Course is amazing
Very nice course for the money tight fairways on some holes and some challenging shots into greens that were in perfect condition.
Nice Course
Nice solid course. Could play every day. Nice staff. Good grooming.
Excellent greens and friendly staff.
Enjoyed the round. Fast pace round. Greens were tough and rolled true.
This course is unorganized.
We had a tee time for 230. We started at 230. When we finished the first 9 the staff stopped us and told us we had to play the front 9 again they had a tournament at 5 on the back 9. This was the first time playing on this course and we would have liked to play every hole. They should have had us start on the back 9 then we could have played the whole course. We all took off work and drive 40 min to play this course.
Absolute MUD HOLE
You can have more fun playing in a corn field. What a waste of space. You might want to take your firearm with you as you might be robbed on the course. Way over priced and there are several courses within a few miles that put this mud hole to shame. This course will be out of business soon. Don't waste your money !
Nice course in a not so nice area
I play Grand Summit a few times a month and only have to pay cart fees since I am a member at their sister course. The course is challenging and a few of the holes you have to place your shots carefully or you'll be in trouble. The back 9 is a little more stimulating than the front and more difficult. Course is usually busy but there are few affordable options in the area between Grandview and South Lee's Summit. Greens and fairways are typically in good shape and having the range close to the clubhouse is nice.
Course is under repair
Interesting track.
Many blind shots.
Will be better second time you play.
