About
Situated in the heart of Franklin, the Cheekwood Golf Club (formerly known as Fairways on Spencer Creek) is conveniently located only 20 minutes south of Nashville. This popular layout has been ranked as one of the top 10 nine-hole golf courses in Tennessee. Despite being a shorter course, the layout still offers several holes with water hazards and sand bunkers. The tight fairways and rolling terrain also require a fair amount of accuracy. The course has enough challenges as well as enough variety throughout the holes to make it a fun round for more skilled players, which also makes it a great place for beginners to get some practice. Being that the round is usually quick, the golf course is a popular choice for golfers looking to get in a quick round after work.

The rough and fairways were in pretty good shape. Greens were not in good shape at all. They have not recovered from aeration and needed to be cut (like putting on a fairway). Bunkers also need some better quality sand.
Hmmmm
Big price for playing this course. Greens need rolling and manicuring. They were close to unputtable. Lots of mowed grass all over greens. Pace of play was great but course conditioning needs work.
Play nine, then do it again better.
Well located, easy enough, and very inviting course. Seems to be very popular and busy on Sunday. Greens are slow and kind of bumpy but once you figure them out its fine. Gives you a chance to play nine, then play nine again better. Fun place, will be back!
The greens - recently aerated - wow...terrible! No control at all on greens...best I be sure to wait a week or so after this process. Great fun - otherwise!
Slow play
As before, course backs up 3 deep at tees. No marshals. Incredible slow pace of play.
Not worth the Money
Very patchy course, first hole didn’t even have a green. No bathrooms throughout the course so you either pee in trees or you drive all the way back to the main building. Only 9 holes. Staff was very friendly. Not worth the $50 per person to golf there.
Decent track
For 50% off you can't really complain. It's a short and fun little course. Good for working on your iron game. Don't know if full price is worth it though.
Needs some TLC
Cheek wood is a fine place to go work on your game. It’s not fancy, the clubhouse lacks atmosphere, and the course seems to always be in need of some TLC. That said, I like going here on a whim, to practice and play with my son.
You get a cart with the relatively inexpensive greens fees so that’s nice.
Overall, a decent track.
Oh, and I got my first hole-in-one on #2 in July of 2020!
I play here everyday and it’s a great course and has great pace hence the 4 star outta 5 on pace of play. I bet you are talking about a Saturday or Sunday when every course pace is slow. There aRe Marshall’s on Fri-Sun
