Cheekwood Golf Club
About
Situated in the heart of Franklin, the Cheekwood Golf Club (formerly known as Fairways on Spencer Creek) is conveniently located only 20 minutes south of Nashville. This popular layout has been ranked as one of the top 10 nine-hole golf courses in Tennessee. Despite being a shorter course, the layout still offers several holes with water hazards and sand bunkers. The tight fairways and rolling terrain also require a fair amount of accuracy. The course has enough challenges as well as enough variety throughout the holes to make it a fun round for more skilled players, which also makes it a great place for beginners to get some practice. Being that the round is usually quick, the golf course is a popular choice for golfers looking to get in a quick round after work.

Great Little Course
It's only 9 holes and I wish they had more! Very nice people, and course is well maintained. You can even tell that a lot of care is taken by the golfers to keep it that way. (As all golfers should do) new carts with GPS and electronic score keeping. Great value - I'll definitely go back.
Bmac
I felt the course was a great deal for a 9 hole course
Winter golf
Course was in good shape for February. Greens were surprising good. Short course.
Deal deal deal
Great course to practice your short game. Well kept especially for the time of year. I will be back.
Very fun course!!
The staff is great and the greens are very well maintained. I can't wait till this spring to play this course again!
The course is under new ownership and great efforts have been made to upgrade the golf experience. However, it is still and always will be a short 9 hole course. Changing the name does not upgrade the course and the green fees are a little above that which one would expect. If I cannot find a GolfNow Hot Deal for this course, I go somewhere else. GolfNow's excessive booking fees are also about to drive me away from their service.

Cheekwood good value for money
Needs upkeep. Very hard packed soil in the rough made it difficult to hit. Some greens were not in good shape. GPS on carts gave erronepus distances. Very good value for the money.
Best Bang for your Buck
Always a great time at Cheekwood, the course is in good shape they have a friendly staff and pace if play is always good. Defintely a hidden gem in Nashville!
Did not honor internet offering!
On 8/5/15, I joined as a member @ this course, & signed a one year agreement including automatic checking account withdrawal for $100/per mo.(=$1,200/yr) w/Clubhouse & Membership Relations Manager Carolyn Perez. Twenty days later, 8/25/15, she sends me an email raising the annual cost by $111.00 stating the course needs to also charge me a sales tax. They should've honored their previously signed agreement amount, as this was not a mistake on my part. (See other reviewer below from August 2015 concerning this course not honoring coupons).
A few months later, holes #5 & #7 greens were taken out of service due to maintenance-for many months thereafter. A temporary green was made on the fairways w/painted circles around the pin, (= more like a farm field than putting green). 20% of the course was then less than adequate to play on. This inconvenience lasted for many months. No consideration was ever offered or given to members for this huge short coming of providing less than full services to the membership.
Again, no forward thinking or offerings by management for this either.
August 2016. Ms. Perez emails me reminding me that my membership was expiring and wanting to know if I wished to renew. I informed her I did not wish to renew. I also informed her that I felt the owners were not forward thinking. She took exception to this & responded back indignantly with an emotional rebuttal, (taking my 'forward thinking' comment personally). Jacking up my membership price after a mutually signed agreement was in place, and then not providing agreed to services after becoming a member are matters that owners/managers should have thought of in advance; thus they are not forward thinking. I was being honest/objective with her when I turned down the renewal offer. She chose to react emotionally in lieu of appreciating objective feedback when she didn't earn a sales commission from me.
The final salvo came yesterday-9/27/16. I received an email from Golfnow. It had Cheekwood Golf Club @ a discounted price for 18 holes for an 11:03 tee time on 9/27/16. I decided the price was doable considering they are the most expensive per hole course in all Metro. I signed up & paid online. At approx 10:00 am, Golfnow calls & awkwardly informs me that the Cheekwood owners do not want me playing at their golf course & he's refunding my $ back to my credit card. I told him it was OK, not his fault-but theirs.
I was going to let all the prior nonsense go and move on, until yesterdays bad management practice of reneging on an internet offering; all because I chose to give Ms. Perez honest feedback; (As she is the Customer Relations manager- right?)
Emotional sensitivity in the ill mannered treatment of the public when they render feedback is not a good quality. Doing something positive with that feedback is a good quality; of which they are lacking. This course failed to be forthright & forward thinking in all three matters.
I don't recommend this business for adults or youth at the present time, under the current management team. Three years from now, I suspect all new management will be in place that will be objective & service oriented. Until then, I can only recommend some other choices at much lower prices per hole than Cheekwood (@ $2.78 per hole); including The Little Course at Conner Lake (@$1.55 per hole); a great course for seniors as well as for the youth, {and is home of the Tn. PGA Jr. Golf Academy} located around the corner on Franklin Road, as well as Harpeth Hills or Forrest Crossing or any of the many other 18 hole courses nearby.
Excellent shirt course with good access.
Conditions of tee grounds, fairways, and greens are well maintained and excellent.
Appropriate course for fundamental training of short. /middle skills.
Easy access and reasonable fee are also attractive,
Outstanding 9 hole course in the heart of Franklin, TN
The new owners have turned a previously mediocre poorly maintained course into the golf gem of Franklin, TN. With its manicured greens and well maintained fairways and bunkers, this 9 hole course is a wonderful experience for golfers of all levels. What it lacks in yardage, it makes up for in course character, from undulating greens to sharp dog-legs and hour glass fairways. With four tee boxes to choose from, and carts with GPS for navigating the course, everyone should have an enjoyable golfing experience.
This course is lush and well maintained. Fairways and greens are in excellent condition
Best fairways and greens in middle Tennessee.
Great pro and friendly staff
You will be impressed with the lay out of this course

I've played the course for 7 or 8 years. Never better than now. It improves every week.
Great course - my favorite.
This course is kept in excellent condition! It has some challenging holes.
Enjoying life
Course is much better shape now that the new owners have taken over. Sand traps are wonderful. Very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable staff.
The "Jewel" on the Harpeth
This course has gone through a great metamorphosis. The new owners have made this the best nine hole course in the area. Fairways, greens and bunkers are in pristine shape. It is set in the heart fo Franklin. Okay it's not Augusta, but it is challenging and enjoyable to play. It has four par three's, four par four's and one par five. The carts are new with GPS to advise of you of yardages and course layout.A friendly staff, golf pro and a relaxed atmosphere! A must try!
Cheekwood is thriving under new team
Cheekwood golf club has been an amazing experience for me personally. I played this course 4 years ago before the new team took over and it was a sub par place, your typical city course. Ever since the new team has taken over this place has exploded into a wonderful place for everyone to get good golf in. The greens have been re done and are starting to roll great, fairways are exceptional, and the overall new layout is competitive for all levels of golf. The golf is great but to me it's the people and employees at cheekwood that have made the experience even better. They treat everyone out their with respect and you feel as if your a part of the family. In my opinion it's the place to be in Williamson County if you want a fun relaxed environment. This place is on the verge of being the spot and I'm glad I get the privilege to play out here and watch it change.
Great golf course
The greens are beautiful & challenging! Good for all levels of ability!
Cheekwood
Well maintained. But after a rain, there are soggy patches. Men's Senior League is awesome with some great gentlemen. Staff are great and as a member they get to know you by more than name.
My experiences with this course and staff ,which are weekly, have only been positive. Wish yours was better.
