About
Situated in the heart of Franklin, the Cheekwood Golf Club (formerly known as Fairways on Spencer Creek) is conveniently located only 20 minutes south of Nashville. This popular layout has been ranked as one of the top 10 nine-hole golf courses in Tennessee. Despite being a shorter course, the layout still offers several holes with water hazards and sand bunkers. The tight fairways and rolling terrain also require a fair amount of accuracy. The course has enough challenges as well as enough variety throughout the holes to make it a fun round for more skilled players, which also makes it a great place for beginners to get some practice. Being that the round is usually quick, the golf course is a popular choice for golfers looking to get in a quick round after work.

A jewel on the Harpath
Cheekwood is a challenging 9 hole course with well kept fairways and greens. The new owners have improved this course 100% I love the landscaping and the new bunkers are something of beauty to see but not be in! A morning veiw is like all the promo shots you see on TV! Rolling fairways and green every where you look! I have become a member and play nearly every day. New golf carts with GPS help you a navigate and give you yardages to green. Try it, you'll like it!
Rip off
$29 for 9 holes for an executive course is absurd. $58 for 2 players. We had members golfing behind us on our 10 min wait to tee of on the 6th hole and their jaws dropped when I told them what we paid. From the beginning to end it was painful..paying in the proshop to having to sign my DL number for the cart. Seriously...I did not do it. All the ads on the GPS screen to hit just to get back to the correct hole. labor intensive to say the least. Greens were below average. Greens keeper drove by right next to us when we were putting and did not even stop for courtesy sake. Wave at least. I give this course new owenership 1 year...they will be gone. Rip off. never come back again.
Fun course in Franklin, TN!
Cheekwood is a great 9 hole course out in Franklin, TN. The new ownership has done a fantastic job and this course is really fun to play. It is great for a quick 9 or 18 holes and you can definitely work on your short game. I would recommend this course to anyone in the Nashville area!
Neat Experience
Cheekwood Golf Club definitely exceeded my expectations. I thought the staff was responsive, course layout is gorgeous and location easy to find.
Course Condition is Improving
The condition of the course has been improving under new ownership. Still some bad spots on greens, but can tell they are working on it. Pace of play was good with exception of a threesome in front of me that I skipped a hole to pass and move on. Staff is very helpful and seems to desire to please.
Yuck
Best thing about this course is the golf carts...very nice...overhead storage...in cart gps system
The course however is terrible....it's like playing in my backyard...if my backyard was a bad golf course
Only 9 holes...and short
Course is in awful condition, especially considering it's JUNE...should be pristine. Unacceptable.
Rough spots everywhere... Even on the greens...lots of damaged ground.
Certain bridges/paths are out of order
Drainage obviously is bad because it's like 85 degrees and hasnt rained in a while...but it's very soggy around the greens. Like hitting from a swamp in some spots.
Definitely not worth paying full price...glad i got a hot deal
People who say this is a nice course clearly dont play golf at nice courses...because Cheekwood is terrible.
You can find better
Nice small course
I enjoyed my experience playing at Cheetwood. The course is nice and the staff was excellent and I will definitely go back and play again if I am in the area.
rough condition
Course is in rough condition. Greens don't hold at all. Hit a very high 56 degree on one hole hit 10 feet on and went way off the back. Pin was in the middle. In fairness new owners. Will have to see in time. For now not worth the 18 hole fee.
A little tight..., but thoroughly enjoyed it!
Although the coursed was a little tight on the fairways on a couple of holes, it was still fun!
The hole markers were accurate in terms of the layout of the hole - very helpful! The yard markers were clearly visable (marked on the cart path, sprinkler heads, as well as stakes in the fairways) - all easy to locate.
All in all, a completely enjoyable afternoon! I can't wait to go back, although I may have to pick up a couple of sleeves of balls before I do!
JarrixD, did you not realize you were playing an executive 9 hole golf course that had just been renovated? I played this weekend and everything seemed dry to me.
