I've enjoyed playing at this course but the grass and greens are in bad need of reseed

Incompetent management
In short: fair course, terrible management. Golf cart availability is first come first serve despite reserving tee time days in advance. We waited 30 minutes after our tee time for a staff member to ask if I needed a golf cart. When I was about to tee off, I had an older staff member approach me and ask with a violent and angry tone if I had anything to say to him. Turns out he believed I was part of a golf tournament taking place and took a golf cart out of order. We resolved his communication issue and then he resorted to apologizing many times there after. I reserved a tee time for 3 players and 2 golf carts, however, due to the managements inability to handle the tournament, we were left sharing one golf cart between 3 players. Highly disappointed with the outcome of this golf course and management.

poor management
We have golfed here many times. This year has been the worst managed,
1. Overbooking, we had made our tee time and when we arrived at the tee box there was 16 people ahead of us. The starter said that happens all the time. Why make tee times if the club house does not appear to follow any times.
2. No control or concerns about poor sportsmanship with golfers. There have been young adults deliberately abusive to the greens. They were doing donuts around the flag with the golf cart. We called the club house regarding this behavior and they acted like it was no big deal. Yes you could see tracks on the green.
3. Another time with a bunch of young adults: there was 8 in that group with three carts. Yes they were all riding the carts (three on two of them) They were slow, excessive drinking, driving carelessly and and no regards to anyone else trying to actually play golf.
4. Calling to make a tee time is almost impossible.

Layout
We enjoyed playing at Shary. Directions to-get there weren’t very good & it took us awhile to find the course. Found much easier way to get back home. It was a little difficult to find some tee boxes. Now that we have played there & gotten the feel of the layout will are ready to go back again.

Course - worst condition in the RGV
I wish the city would hire a staff that would take care of this course! There are so many better in the RGV.

Still needs work
I play the course on a weekly basis and haven’t seen a whole lot of improvement since a couple of months ago. Management is very permissive and perhaps that doesn’t help the deteriorating conditions of the golf course. Cordoning off trouble areas where grass is being killed of by high cart traffic could help. This could also help to keep grass around the greens in good shape. However, in this course, you’ll see players drive all the way to the edge of the green. It’s no wonder this GC doesn’t look as good as it should. Distance markers are still lacking in the back nine and ball washing stations generally don’t work even though they are present in most holes. There’s usually no sand to fix divots in the carts’ containers. And finally, the greens looked really bad of late, since no one seems to fix their ball marks when they hit a shot on them. It’s a shame, as this could be a really nice course. Hope this helps.

Ball washers almost all dry, weeds growing on the greens, the quality of the fairways is very bad, its ok to play there because of the layout. Not sure ehy they dont take good care of it, it could be full year round.
