Riviera Maya Golf Club - Championship Course

About
Riviera Maya Golf Club has been ranked as one of the top five golf courses in Mexico. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Championship Course winds through lush Mayan jungle. Natural lakes also dot the scenic landscape. Being so close to the ocean, wind definitely comes into play, especially on the tough par-3 second hole, which plays directly into the prevailing winds. If you are able to keep your shots in the fairway, you'll surely be rewarded with a good lie and a challenging, but fair approach. Jones carefully carved the golf course from the deepest part of a limestone quarry, spreading the fairways across treacherous jungle growth that is just waiting to swallow up errant shots. In addition to the championship layout, there is also an Executive Course that is one of the best nine-hole golf courses in the Rivera Maya.

Very good track
Very good track, reasonably priced with TeeOff app., would be interested in purchasing property with membership
AMAZING
What a wonderful experience and beautiful course. From the staff that checked us in to the food we ate. It is definitely the best course I have ever experienced. I am grateful for everyone that has a role in making this course what it is. Absolutely everything and everyone was what I describe as perfect! Thank you.
She’s tight
I played this course twice, once from the white and from the tips. Had more success from the tips as it brought less trouble into play. I drive the ball 260-285. Bring lots of balls lots! If you’re a tight and tidy golfer who drives it 200 up the pipe every time, you’ll do well here. Greens are in amazing condition. And roll exceptionally well. My only dislike (besides my score)I played in the afternoon both times. They must water frequently, I had a ball plug, most every other ball had mud on it and minimal roll on drives.
Top Notch
Fantastic challenging and stunning layout in awesome shape. Staff especially Edwardo at cart stand were extremely friendly and helpful. . We have played many nice courses in Mexico but I must say this maybe out favorite even though it's definitely not easy.
You have to play this course
One of the most beautiful courses I have ever played. The pace of play was excellent, no-one in front or behind us. Staff was very attentive, I felt they wanted us to have a great experience. Wonderful layout, I'm a 10.8 handicap and it was not too easy or too hard. Its a bit pricy but if you use golf now you can save about $50. Regardless of price, if you are in Riviera Maya you need to do yourself a favor and play this course.
Nice course
Staff was friendly, carts had gps, course was in good condition. Lots of sand and narrow fairways. We played 18 in just over 3 hours, loved that we could keep moving!
Pace of play slow!
Course needs to have a Marshall. Pace of play was very slow.
Rivera Maya Overall Course Review
This was an amazing and challenging course. The fairways and greens were impeccable. Well designed with a fair amount of hazards throughout the 18 holes. The entire staff were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Was an exceptional experience for our first time playing this course. Well done.
Amazing treat!
We all loved this course, very challenging but super layout!
PGA
Nice track, I understand why those guys are good, the course was immaculate. Every time I ripped a 6” piece of carpet i looked around feeling guilty, shot a 83 from the blues…
If you play early the greens will not be consistent. Very slow pace until 9 then doubles the pace. Makes the greens very hard to predict.
Good Bones - Minimal Service
A well-designed course with fairways and greens in decent shape. Other areas not as manicured and as per my last visit, service is minimal. Simple things like ice and cold water for the cart on hot days seem like simple asks. No GPS and no course map on scorecard. The track has promise but servicing golfers does not seem a priority.
