About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Fun Course
Beautiful day for golf. Greens were hit or miss. Played winter rules as the ground was pretty hard in many places, but hey, its February. Always like the layout here. There is a nice blend of easy, medium, and hard holes. Definitely a course to put in the local rotation.

Guys in pro shop were super friendly. They brought a cart out to me on the range. And it was a busy day and they let me walk on and got me out in 20 minutes.

Loved the course!
Pace of play was great with nobody slowing down play, nor was anyone rushing from behind. Greens were immaculate and surprisingly challenging, yet enjoyable. Layout was excellent. Will definitely play again.

Greens need help
The track itself is pretty fun, but the conditions of the course were very poor. Greens are peppered with bad patches, and the course was dry, but it’s what I expect in the winter.

Always a good time
Courteous staff, course was playing great given the time of year. A few patches of poana in the fairways, greens were great! The ONLY downside was the pace was a little slower than usual. Overall a good experience though and will continue to go back

Very Poor Condition!!!
I played here yesterday and the course is in very bad condition. The fairways are very dry and there is obvious water damage in the fairways that have not been addressed. The majority of the greens are also in very poor condition. This course needs a lot of maintenance. Stay away from here for now. Hopefully thay will get a handle on this course and make it a course you want to play.

Great Day at Ridgeview Ranch
It was a wonderful January golf day in Texas. Sun was shining, birds were singing, and golf balls were flying. Course was in good shape for the dormant season in North Texas so the rollout of the ball was significant. Greens seemed a little dry but understand there can be issues with putting too much water on greens in the winter. Crabgrass on the greens is still present but putted balls seem to roll true and fast.

Took advantage of nice weather
As it's winter, the course was dry. Greens were not in very good shape. Pace of play was good.
