About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Good course but need pace management Marshall
Good course good staff wonderful check in process. Cafeteria staff could use a bit of uplift. Apple Pay not accepted is quite surprising. would play again however - there were a group of players in front of us who were a bunch of knuckleheads who were not keeping the pace and standing and chatting without playing and holding the rest of the players. If they were taking time to play I understand but drinking a beer and not playing and blocking is not cool. You should have a course pace Marshall to manage the pace and keep all players on time.

Not worth it
This course is overpriced and not in good enough condition for what they charge IMO. Texas has had some extreme weather recently with all the heat but it seems like Ridgeview has hardly been watering their fairways during this time. Too many dry spots all over the course. Greens are in better condition than they were last year but still not the best.

Rain, rain, go away, let me play the course, ok?
Showed up early on a rainy morning. Being by yourself behind a group of 4 let’s you practice a bunch of different scenarios, I quite prefer it over blasting through a course in 90 minutes. Got quite a deal on the cost of the round though thanks to the rain during the first couple holes. Not exactly the hardest course out there but missing the fairways adds a layer of difficulty due to the hilly terrain. Had to check a couple carts to make sure they had enough gas in them since some were sitting around a quarter tank. $11 for chips, hot dog, and a drink though? Come on. Overall an awesome place to play, didn’t lose a single ball, and had a fun day.

Need marshal on weekend
I have played here multiple times over the years and it is always the same. If not the first few groups of expect a 4.5-6 hour round.
A marshal or two getting players to play ready golf would help the threesome in front of us averaged almost 20 min a hole.

Why no Drinking water on course
Glad to see the course has finally overcome the issue with their greens. However, 100 degrees and literally no drinking water. I did see the cart girl twice but there should be simple coolers on the course like every other course in America. I ran out on 16 and was feeling faint by 18. Come on guys/do better!!!!!

For it being so dry in this region, I found the course to be in good condition which means the tee boxes, fairways and greens were good. It is easy enough and challenging enough for all handicaps. I look forward to playing it again and having a great round and great experience.

Course Is In Good Shape - PUT OUT WATER JUGS!
The course is in good shape. In particular the greens are much improved on where they were a month or two ago. A real negative is that the course has not resumed putting water jugs out on the course. I’ve played there a few times recently, and, given the extreme heat, it is actually dangerous to not have the water jugs out. In this weeks round I was matched up with a couple of older gentleman in their 80’s who did not know that there wasn’t going to be any water on the course. I thought one of them was going to pass out later in the round.

Vastly Improved
I “played” here spring of this year and that word is in quotes because it is hard to call the course then “playable”.
However, the poa has been killed on the greens and they are now in great shape. The bunker work is completed and the course was great. I look forward to my next round. Great job and accolades to the maintenance crew.
