Heritage Creek Golf Club

I played nine holes late afternoon and the course was not crowded so it was mostly open to play as fast as you wanted. There are two holes where the tee shot is particularly difficult (border line unfair) and blind and this is a common thing for Kelly Blake Moran courses. On this night in late spring the fairways were fine and the tees were good but the greens were one star. They have not healed from aeration months ago and putt extremely slow with balls not taking breaks except the most severe. This has not been the case in past visits to this 9 hole course.

This is a partially built golf course, so you have to know that going in. Once you set your expectations properly you might have a really good time! the holes that are carved into the landscape are well thought out and a challenge depending on the tees you select. the greens offer bail out opportunities but also some danger depending on pin placement. If this place ever finishes construction I think it'll challenge the Makefield Highlands type better-run places. Unfortunately, it's been years since they initially dug ground and it remains to be seen if this place will be swept away by the nationally felt anxiety towards the future of golf-course building. It's a shame, this could be a GEM.

If you are looking for a good round of golf at a local course that is not over crowded, try Heritage. It is currently a 9 hole course, which will add 9 more holes within 2 years. There are two pin placements at each hole which allows for a round of 18 on 9 holes. Worth a try.

I played Heritage Creek Golf Course today and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are an average weekend golfer who does not have the option of a private golf club, then this course is a good fit. The golf course is kept in good shape, the greens run true. The undulating greens and course layout presents a moderate challenge. It is currently a nine hole course with two pin placements at each hole if you play 18. The first half of the course runs through a wooded area that presents wonderful views and sight lines. The second half runs though a housing development. Over the next 2 years the second 9 hole will be created. It is better than most municipal courses in the area and not as crowded as local privately owned public courses. Well worth a try.
