Golfer Reviews
Real Jem in the rough !!!
Have played Trestle Creek several times and have never been disappointed on its play. From tee to green in excellent shape. Rough not too punishing but there are some holes that are, can't wait too play the other 9 when it's completed in '15.
Great course
Trestle Creek unfortunately is just 10 holes at present. It was however a great track that in the future will be an even better play.
I will most certainly be back.
Great course - unfinished
The website was a little bit misleading with the information. Mentioning things like 27 holes, par 3 course, etc etc. However, the pictures looked amazing and the course looked well manicured.
Upon arrival the course looked as good as it did in the pictures, and that's saying something! We were disappointed to find out that the course is unfinished and that only 9 holes are completed out of the 27 mentioned on the website...
However, the facilities were in phenominal shape. The grass driving range (a must for any premiere golf course in my opinion) was immaculate. The targets were all measured by GPS so you knew exactly how far you were hitting it.
The fairways and greens were also in VERY good condition. You got the right amount of role and the greens were rolling very purely; and they were not slow at all.
Lastly, the tee blocks were short cut and I would say about an 8/10 on flatness and even-ness. The overall pace was not as quick as I expected it to be for a new course that's fairly secluded. However, it is part of an RV resort. It took almost 5 hours and the clubhouse itself was not fully prepared to handle us. We ordered food on the 7th hole and had to wait almost 10 minutes before being able to leave to start our second nine (on the same nine.)
Overall I really enjoyed the 9. However I wish that the website would have been a little more specific on the condition of the course so that I wasn't so shocked after 9 to find out I had to play the same 9 again. But, as I said, the course is in immaculate condition and I will definitely be returning. You can tell the course is new but their struggles are no so apparent as to warrant waiting to play this course as it is well worth it.
Hope this helps!
Trestle Creek
Awesome track!! Can't wait for the next 18!!
Fantastic condition.
worth the drive
Only the front nine are completed, plus the "tenth", but playing different tee boxes changes the course on the second lap.
Once the back 18 (27 hole course) are done, it'll be fantastic.
Course in amazing condition
This course is in the best condition! I think there is a worker on every second hole. Fairways are smooth, rolling and well groomed. Flat tee boxes, imagine! Beautiful birds around the variety of water features. I am looking forward to what the new 9 has to offer when finally finished. The only drawback is the food and beverages leave a lot to be desired. Bring your own lunch.
Best grass around
Had a great golf weekend with a buddy and we were actually impressed with the conditions of courses in the Edmonton area. Until today when we played Trestle Creek's Jack pine 9. Lush green thick grass everywhere. Absolutely perfect conditions that put the other courses to shame. We will definitely be making the drive out to Trestle Creek a few more times before summer's end and can't wait to see what the next 9 holes will offer!
Well Worth The Drive
I play The Trestle weekly. 5 tees meand totally different set up every round. Amazing greens. Hole 5 is a monster! Play this course!
Nicks review
Best fairways and greens I've played on all year. There is something for every player and I will definetley play there again.
ed
The course was in excellent condition, the only complaint we would have is the holes were not signed adequately and you had to guess where the next tee was. Our GPS was not turned on which would have helped throughout. A nice lay-out and when completed will be even better. We played the nine twice. Very well kept.
Challanged enough
The course was easier to play once we got the lay of the land. We had a little mix up with our cart which delayed us needlessly. We were happy to play the extra hole it's a nice one. We both pared it the second time. Would we come back? Yes if we get a chance.
Excellent couse
We enjoyed the rolling hills of the fairways. Challenges over water . The greens wee in excellent shape. Found them very challenging. Will definetely return.
Love the bonus hole!
The first nine and bonus hole are in great shape. Will be awesome when all 27 holes are complete!
Great layout!
This course is in excellent condition and you can tell they are serious as reflected in the investment in time and effort. I look forward to the completion of the back nine! Some may not like the GPS golf carts that treat one like they lack intelligence by shutting down when close to the green or resident's property. But then some golfers have difficulty respecting the course and surrounding area. Regardless, great golf course and highly recommended - worth the drive!
Great when finished
We played the same nine twice, as course not completed yet, but the holes we did play were interesting, and some times a challenge, will be going back to play eighteen when it's finished
Jewel
This course is a jewel set in an amazing setting. Everything is first rate. I only went to golf, but it looks like an amazing place to bring a camper and spend some time with the family. That being said, I would go back once again just for the golf and friendly service there.
This is no "cookie cutter" course
Brad Dupuis the course designer has sculptured 9 holes that is golf heaven. Every hole is different, not the pull out the big stick and whale away down the 400 yard long straight fairway. You better be thinking as you stand on tee box ... if not prepare to be cussing at yourself after bogey or worse, I know I was on a couple of holes. Alvin Clark, the owner, joined us on the clubhouse deck after our round and extolled the virtues of the club, this was the first time myself and partners had met him, he didn't have to sell our fore some, we were already hooked, reeled in and on the grill ..... what a great course!!
