Golfer Reviews
clubhouse staff have a BIG attitude problem
course is in great condition, layout great, good target golf
Worth the drive
Pleasantly surprised at the value for the drive out from Edmonton. The greens are in fantastic shape (no winter kill). Fairways are narrowish but the rough is cut down to a reasonable length such that it is still a penalty but not so long that you have to spend time looking for an errant tee shot. The greens are small but undulations create some very tricky putts. Bunkers are well placed. My only complaint is that the sand is very soft. Outstanding value for the price. I didn't realize initially that there are only 9 holes. Can't wait to be able to play this course when the second 9 and completed.
The greens are huge and challenging
The course was in excellent condition and in beautiful surroundings.
Great early season conditions
This course has plush fairways and well maintained greens. Putting was a challenge with the undulating greens, but the speed was fair and consistent. The fairways and tee boxes were in as good if not better than any of the other places I have played this year. Staff are friendly and helpful and the beverage cart girl made frequent visits to our foursome. Would recommend this course over many around the city and is well worth the drive. Can't wait for the next nine holes to open.
Course is in great shape
The course appears to be in good summer conditions for spring time. Fairways were excellent, greens a bit slow but true. The GPS adds to pace. Can't wait for next 9 to be opened.
Beautiful 9 holes
It's a fair hike to get to this course from Edmonton, but this 9 hole course is in immaculate condition and the 5 tee boxes allow for lots of choice and range of difficulty. Every tee, fairway and green is lush and the sand in the traps is consistent and nicely grained. Unfortunately for us we assumed this was a full 27 hole course (since it is not at all apparent on golfnow or any other advertising we saw that it's not), and so we were very disappointed when we arrived at the course to hear that only 9 holes were available to play. The intern pro did say they anticipate the 2nd 9 will be finished and available to play by September, but there sure looks to be a lot of work needed to get the 2nd 18 in good playing condition. My partner and I played different tee boxes on each 9 so that added a bit of variety, but we agreed we will only return when the full 18 holes is complete.
great design
Awesome course, great design. Has the look a pga course. Cant wait for the next nine.
Course is in excellent condition...greens are also full and fast with many undulations.
The course has only one negative that I see and that is the sand in all traps are much too soft. When entering to play a shot you sink and it is difficult to play out because the sand is so fine thus resulting in heavy or deeper divots .
Seriously good
For a course that has only been open 2 seasons this one has to be taken seriously. Fairways and greens are in great shape. The greens are large with lots of interesting runs. No two are alike. It had rained over night and our only complaint was that there was too much sand in the traps - it was wet and heavy and very difficult to even rake out our footprints as we sunk so deep.
There are only 9 holes right now but when the next 9 are on stream this will be a serious contender for golf dollars in this area. We will be back.
Only nine holes but 4 tee boxes make it Great.
Hopefully nine more holes will be ready for next year. What a great golf experience on the Jackpine nine. The staff were great greens large and fast and the scenery was terrific. We will make the trip again. Too nice to keep it a secret!!!
Future very bright for Trestle Creek
New course, just 9 holes at the moment, 18 more planned, design great, conditions remarkable for a new course, greens immaculate. Beautiful, natural environment. Will be a top 5 course in the region.
An absolutly manacured course, with the best of greens.
Trestle Creek golf resort near Entwistle Alberta is truly a GEM in the making, so far they have a wonderful 9 holes open, and are proceeding with another 18 holes (total 27 holes). Its a golf resort in the making, so far there are a number of RV lots available. Its a must play golf course even with 9 holes play it twice for your 18 holes.
