Tight tree lines
Many fairways were tight with tree lines on both sides. Can be a bit confusing figuring out where the next tee box is. Greens were cut tight and super-fast.
Staff is not good.
No mention of an age limit to drive a cart here, but it turns out you have to be 18 to drive one. Me and a couple buddies went and we were denied a cart. On top of that we had to pay a $10 walking fee, which is outrageous because I’ve never heard of a walking fee anywhere before (not listed on the website). The website also said a cart was included with the green fee prices, but turns out you pay a seperate cart fee when you get there (or walking). There was a twosome of kids that were 16 but were given a cart, and me and my buddies were all older than them.
Course was nice. Greens were very small. Do not recommend going here.
Visiting people in there area
Got me ready and play fast. I got paired with a local. And I’m glad because he knew the course layout. It would have been very challenging for the first time playing. It’s an old private course tge town voted to bring back. It’s worth the play and price. Give it a shot if your around the area.
Great course for price
Great course to play for the price. Despite being a shorter course, the narrow fairways and small undulating greens make this course a good challenge. Fairways have some dry spots but they have been working hard to improve the conditions. The greens are always in great shape and rolling fast.
great round
even though it was a little wet this course absorbs the water really well. I had one of my best rounds there ever. the staff is always outstanding and friendly.
Excellent!
This course is in fantastic shape!! The greens and fairways are some of the best around. Just wow! The City of Sherwood has done an awesome job!! I’m seriously considering a membership.
Great place to play
Good golf course for the money, the layout is kind of confusing on a few holes. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape especially considering all the rain we’ve had recently. The greens were very challenging and several blind holes. Be sure and use some kind of map to know where the targets are before you hit. Overall really great place.
Its named "The Hills" for a reason.
Great track .Tight driving holes from all the big old trees, it is short, even from tips, but small green that run true and even kind of fast (10-11) when theyre dry make it a challenge even with the lack of distance. Awesome course, will be playing here alot.
The Greens at North Hills Review
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The course was in great shape, the greens were fast and well manicured. However, there were several groups of 5 to six individuals playing together and were betting. This slowed the pace of play to a crawl. This is the only negative I have to say for this course. I have played here before and it is always the same.
A course owned by the City of Sherwood, so…
A course owned by the city of Sherwood, so the way it’s run and the people who play there should be no surprise.
The Greens at North Hills is a golf course that is so redneck, even Jeff Foxworthy himself wouldn't play there. The course features makeshift obstacles like old car parts, tires, and even a moonshine still on the fairway. The clubhouse is a converted barn with a grill serving up fried bologna sandwiches and sweet tea. The fairways are overgrown with patches of wildflowers and the rough is more like a field of burrs. Tee boxes feature fist fights with patrons sporting overalls and straw hats and the greens are stained with tobacco spit. The whole atmosphere is a reflection of the broad culture the city of Sherwood is known for with banjo music playing in the background and taunts from locals during your backswings yelling “you ain’t from ‘round here are you” on nearly every hole.
