Lost ball?
Had difficulty finding balls in the fairways grass was so long. I’ve seen the course in better shape in the past. Hope this was a one-off. Did see a crew working on some repairs around the ninth hole, which could have affected course conditions. Will play again.
Whoop-de-do
Tee boxes and fairways in good shape, greens need some work; they were quite bumpy. Overall, a nice enough course.
Will play again
The course is in fair condition, for February. The fairways were in fair shape for having dormant grass. The greens were ok, a bit bumpy; the bunkers were unplayable.. It was a bit wet, it had been raining two days prior to playing the round. Looks like they are trying to make improvements, there were a couple of crews working on maintenance getting ready for the warmer days coming soon. The carts looked brand new, which in my experience is one of the first steps taken in the path to renovate a course. Hope the process continues which will make it quite nice.
Greens a little bumpy but to be expected due to time of year
Fairways need more grass, had to move the ball a little to get grass to hit off of...(again time of year so not really course management fault), Sand traps need better maintenance (all of them need sand in them and better maintenance to get them fluffy and not hardpan). Good pin placements. Updatable Tee yardages. What was said on my GolfLogix app and what tee box said did not match. No Marshall, there was a group of 8 that was in front of us, (they let us play through), but intimidating and should have never been allowed that many on same hole.
They cater to big groups
2nd week in a row we got stuck waiting on large groups of non golfers drinking and really enjoying themselves. Not good for the rest of us however.
Very Disappointed
I drove from Dallas to New Haven to play golf on a golf trip with my husband. The course was unbelievably rough. The greens were in bad shape and don't even get me started on the fairways. Hitting from the fairways was like hitting off of cement. Very disappointed, I had high hopes. The women’s tees have not seen water this whole year. There was no grass on hardly any tee box that I hit off of today, just a bunch of pine needles.
Long Time Gone...
Back in the 60's a bunch of guys I worked with use to play 9 holes after work a couple times a week, weather permitting. Each vacation I would play 18 during the day when there was few others on the course. The last time I played South Haven was in 1969 just before I left Texarkana for college. I still have my hat.
Don't pay any attention to any of the particulars required to post. I checked off what ever I was required to.
