Texarkana Golf Ranch
About
Set along the shores of beautiful Bringle Lake, the Texarkana Golf Ranch is one of the best new courses in the state, and some say the nation. With its thick forests, lush fairways, and significant elevation changes, this pristine course offers a peaceful golf experience for unbelievably affordable prices. Since the course was carved out of the natural East Texas terrain, they didn’t have to move much dirt–the low construction costs are passed on to the golfing public.
The design spreads out over 300-plus acres that could have easily supported the development of 36 holes. Instead there are only 18 holes, most of which are not adjacent; this means that you’ll typically never see another group on the course.
You might even spy a celebrity or two. Those fortunate enough to attend the grand opening were able to attend a clinic from PGA Professional and Haney prodigy Mark O'Meara. Later that day you could also compete against him in the tournament that kicked off the course's grand opening
The beauty here is unparalleled; every hole appears to be the signature hole. On the front Nos. 4 and 8 stand out a bit more than the others. No. 4 is the only hole where Bringle Lake is not visible, but because it features over 50 feet of elevation change over its 472 yards, it’s one of the most spectacular holes.
No. 8 is almost comical, playing a devilish 666 yards from the tee–it’s a double dogleg that requires two perfect shots to be in position to reach the green in regulation. Wayward approaches carom off the slopes beside the green, and ups and downs are not guaranteed.
The three finishing holes leave you drooling for more. No. 16 is over 500 yards and requires a tee shot over a lake into a tight landing area. The second shot is a lay-up into a sloping fairway. It can be impossible to get it close with the short approach because the green is perhaps the most undulating on the course.
The beautiful No. 17 plays 214 yards on a long plateau beside the lake, and the spectacular ender plays 425 yards through the tall pines. It’s tough to get the tee shot in the fairway because of the numerous bunkers, and especially because of the funky green. Surrounded by bunkers, this strange green is often a sure three-putt because the front slopes left to right, while the back does just the opposite.
Getting there : Take the Richmond Rd. exit north off of I-30, then turn right on Scott Wright Rd.

Best Course I’ve played in East TX
Beautiful wood and lake course. Greens wee in green shape. Great value!
Not great
Course conditions were just okay. Some greens had bare spots. Fairways were decent. Some tee boxes were not mowed. We had to return and switch carts twice. They had some issue with the GPS/geofencing that set off alarms randomly and they wouldn’t shut off.
Blind Tee Shot
The first time playing the course was difficult, a lot of holes had blind tee shots, if you did know where to go you could loose a lot of balls. Even playing a relatively forward tee you need to know where your going, the carts did give a hole by hole layout but it didn’t to into account the hills and valleys.
It was a challenging course with same great features but you need a few rounds to become accustomed to the layout and the best places to miss.
Cart paths
The whole reason this isn’t a better course is because the cart paths are in absolutely horrible condition
Great Layout
If they could improve their conditions this would be one of the best in the state! Fort things first, but some cart restrictions up around the greens and that would help conditions greatly.
For what this course charges, it has to be one of the best values in Texas. The layout is superb with six holes along the lake, rolling terrain, and large undulating greens.
One of my favorite courses I have played in Texas and worth the effort to play.
What a Gem
Layout was incredible, views on back 9 around the lake were gorgeous. Elevated tee boxes to narrow fairways made for a challenge that was appreciated. They had just fertilized and sanded the greens so they were slow and difficult to judge, but that was the only negative
TGR
Not a bad course for the money. Several beautiful holes along the lake.
Great course, outstanding staff!
Every staff member is extremely friendly, and the course has a very cool layout with holes that run along a small lake. They absolutely want your repeat business. Great course, cart parts may need a little love in some places, outstanding value! Greens roll nice!
A beauty within the trees and water
This course is amazing, just a beautiful setting with mature tree lined fairways and gorgeous lake views. The money you spend makes this course worth every penny. It’s also challenging and has some of the toughest par 3 in the area. I’d recommend anyone to play this course.
Value
A good value for the money. Cart paths need improvement
Good layout, nice view, but needs better upkeep
Pro: Enjoyed the round. Nice layout that required some shot planning. Fairways and approach areas were in good condition. Carts have GPS with map display. Yardage books available in clubhouse. Elevation changes throughout the course. Nice views.
Con: Bunkers were hard and haven't been raked in a while. Cart paths were mostly non existent, which made navigating the course difficult at times, and also made for a bumpy ride. Greens were a little bumpy with a few dead spots, but mostly manageable. About a quarter of the tee boxes had large dead spots and were uneven. Most water coolers on course were empty.
Nice course
Course layout was nice, pretty challenging. Checking in for tee time was quick. Definitely will be back.
Nice Course
This was nice course for a good value with Golf Now. The greens were in great condition and were deceptively difficult. My only negative comment is that the car paths are in poor condition, so getting around the course was pretty rough.
Great public course
You get your bang for your buck with this course always a great place to play. The fairways are in pretty good shape and I would say the greens are in great condition not perfect but great, the bunkers are a little less than desirable but like I said bang for your buck. It's a challenging course so it's always fun to play.
Amazing
Staff was awesome! Very friendly! Greens are about done with seeing signs of being punched. Fairways were great!
