EagleVail Golf Club
About
What's the best way to describe EagleVail Golf Club? A river golf course? A mountain golf course? Actually, it's a little bit of both. It's also a pretty golf course ... and pretty tough. The 18-hole Bruce Devlin and Roger von Hagge design, which opened in 1974, isn't a long golf course by today's standards, but there isn't a lot of room for error. The only true mountain design for a public golf course in the Vail Valley places a high priority on shot placement, and you should as well if you want to have a good score. The tee shot at the par-5 first hole is elevated about 75 feet, there's the red barn at No. 2 (part of the area's agricultural heritage) and there are plenty of elevation changes and breathtaking views as you make your way around. But no matter what you call EagleVail Golf Club, chances are you'll be calling for another tee time once you've played there.

Great surfaces
Nice course good chance u might see some wildlife as well
Great course.
We love the course. Two complaints though. Slow groups aren't encouraged to play faster and the woman at the pro shop was rude. Pay your money and sign in with the guy - he was much more friendly.
Must play!
We play every summer near Vail and have stayed right by this course for years, but never played. A ton of fun!
Character on back nine is excellent! Front nine is easy, but back has tricky holes.
Par 5's are reachable, plus both very short, and a few long par 3's.
Overall, great track at fair price. Better than most! In the area, especially for public course!
Good and touch
Great place, but need to play more than once to know where to shoot and what clubs to hit. Would love to go back. Don't forget the beer for your score at the end!
GREAT COURSE
SOME TRICKEY HOLES....MOUNTAIN GOLF....GREENS ARE FAST AND HARD TO READ, OR IT JUST ME
Great natural beauty, but lots of trouble to avoid.
Particularly challenging in high winds. Greens were very fast w/lots of slope. A great challenge.
resort course with lots of scenic goofy holes
resort course with lots of scenic goofy holes, fun and cheap
The attention to detail is superb
Although the fairways were a little rough due to the late spring, the course was beautiful. The attention to every detail in the landscaping was excellent. Flowers everywhere. Rock borders around everything. Split rail fencing. All of that with the beautiful views of the rushing river and mountains. Would love to play it in the summer when it's in it's best condition. One of my top ten courses ever.
Awesome Layout
Unbelieveable layout. This is by far one of the most challenging golf courses I have ever played. You better bring your "A" game or pan on loosing many golf balls.
Picturesque course setting and day spoiled by a course marshal who should be terminated
The course setting is picturesque. However, because of the terrain, and a blind shot with misleading advice on signage about where to hit the ball to protect houses on the right side of the fairway (apparent assumption that everyone slices the ball), the course design is only lacking a windmill and a clown's mouth. Even with that being said, we were having an enjoyable day until a course marshal arrived at the 16th hole, and was literally "in our face" accusing us of holding up the course when we had been waiting all day on a foursome, which became a threesome at the turn, and was the only reason we were able to complete the round in about 4 1/2 hours. In my 55 years of playing golf, I've never encountered anything like this. That "marshal" should be terminated (I have his name if anyone cares). We did discuss this outrageous behavior of the marshal with the staff in the shop. They didn't seem to know what to do about it, although they did offer us a return visit, which we clearly refused based on our experience that day.
