Plum Creek Golf & Country Club

About
Legendary golf architects Pete Dye and Perry Dye designed the 18-hole, private course at Plum Creek Golf and Country Club, located in Castle Rock. Opened in 1984, the golf course features 7,044 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. Dye included various different challenges in this golf course, causing some locals to say that it possesses some of the most difficult holes in the state. The hilly terrain of the well-bunkered course causes many uneven lies. Water hazards also come into play on some holes. Plum Creek Golf and Country Club boasts beautiful views of Castle Rock and the Rockies.

Har tee boxes and greens
The tee boxes are so hard you can barely get a tee into the ground. And event then you needed to search for a soft enough location to place a tee. The greens are firm and every hole had ball marks all over them. I always fix may ball marks and others that I see but there are like 10-15 on each green.
I wold recommend this course when the spend some time caring for it.
Too long of a round
5 hour 20 minute round for a course that really isn't that challenging. We were double stacked by the 2nd hole. Saw the marshall a few times and all he said was "Hurry up and wait, huh" with a chuckle. I gues the only good thing was getting to know the groups in front and behind us since we saw them on every hole.
Really Nice Layout
The course was busy but it still played less than 5 hours. I see that the requested play time is 4 hours 20 minutes. We didn’t comply but could only go as fast as the group ahead of us, which we waited for on every tee. Thankfully, the marshal didn’t give us any problem and was super nice! We really enjoyed the course! The refreshment cart attendant was great and came by often on a hot day to make sure we were properly hydrated. We will be back!!
Major improvement over last year
All the major course improvement begun last year are now completed (e.g. sand traps, drainage, turf, greens, etc.). My round was 4-1/2 hours. Staff very friendly and helpful. Some of par 4s were quite long, uphill and difficult to get a par on. Nice to see mule deer healthy and on the course. A treat.
Great course!
One of the best public courses we’ve played. New facilities & course improvements are top notch. The course plays very well. Highly recommend. Looking forward to playing again.
On the right track!
The course is in pretty good shape. Can’t wait to see what this course will look like in another year or two once the renovations grow in
Plum Creek
Very nice course. The new owners are doing a tremendous amount of work to make the course better. I recommend playing it.
Poor conditions and cheap owners.
Nothing about the course is nice. They had to change my cart twice as they kept dying. They are on cartpath only but charge full for a cart. The course has not seen a drop of water outside rain this year. Their super needs to be fired. 5 and a half hour round.
Premiere Plum Creek...
Plum Creek is special, period.
This course offers up so many great challenges = requires solid drives, like all golf courses but with the undulating greens (some even more than usual) protecting the pin placements, you will get a wide variety of putts to test your nerves and score!
And that's if your approach shots hold the greens. If not, plenty of the greens features immediate drop-offs down into deep grass bunker complexes so you have to guard against hitting long, left, and right...
... just hit fairways and greens and you'll be fine !?!?! Cheers!
Fun track course is not in great condition right now
They just aerated and sanded the greens so they were very inconsistent. The fairways were in decent shape. For what I payed with the course conditions I felt I got robbed. It is a great course in the summer when they have had some time to get it in good shape.
Joke!
Basically took three carts to finish the round. The staff seems to not have a clue who’s running what. Brought me a cart once to get me through the round, and when the guy got there, it was dead.
