About

Holes 18
Type Semi-Private
Par 72
Length 7044 yards
Slope 136
Rating 72.7

Legendary golf architects Pete Dye and Perry Dye designed the 18-hole, private course at Plum Creek Golf and Country Club, located in Castle Rock. Opened in 1984, the golf course features 7,044 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. Dye included various different challenges in this golf course, causing some locals to say that it possesses some of the most difficult holes in the state. The hilly terrain of the well-bunkered course causes many uneven lies. Water hazards also come into play on some holes. Plum Creek Golf and Country Club boasts beautiful views of Castle Rock and the Rockies.

Great course that is now back and revitalized

I have been playing this place for years, always liked it but, the conditions got bad for a while. The last couple years under new management with a new bar and food has been great, conditions good, the layout is fantastic, finishing 3 holes very tough. Used to be a TPC in the 80s when the Senior tour was here and you can imagine Player, Elder, others winning here

Great improvements!!!

Played this course about 12 years ago when it was on its way down and in poor shape.

You can tell that they’ve dumped $13m into this course and facilities. Still has the Pete Dye charm and touches, and is playable for all levels. Staff was great, will definitely be back when in town!

Beautiful Course

This is the second time we played discourse and it did not disappoint. Interesting layout, and beautiful views in many places. Check-in staff was quite helpful and friendly, but the starter was a bit stern. Was not necessary.

Softened Pete Dye

Plum Creek had its Dye roots with angled tee boxes, giant sloping greens with runoffs, and the classic railroad tie water par 4. But, you could tell it had been softened to make it more player friendly from its Senior PGA tour days. Not a bad thing as the course still plays plenty difficult. Traps had tons of nice new soft sand. Greens were fast. Pace of play was 4 hours for a 4some. Never an issue. Not a walking course, distances between holes can be longer in spots. Helps to play with someone who knows sitelines. Never played before, but previous reviews were showing this place had downturned. Not the case right now, the recent Bear Dance ownership has taken over the course. Worth a play all day every day! Classic Dye with elevation. Keep it up Plum Creek. Course will continue to improve through years and makes for a must play!

Play Plum Creek

I like this course. Challenging in that you must keep your ball in play and several tough lies. One think I would recommend to the course is have a clock by the driving range and clubhouse.

I typically walk. Looking to play on July 5. Is it walkable? Never played there before.
