I LOVE the Mad Russian golf course, and it was in phenomenal condition, I am a superintendent myself so the things I saw many folks would not, great course, great layout, tough for all who dare it.
Beautiful morning of golf!
We were very happy with our experience at the course today! The grass was in great condition. Even with all the rain we have been having, there was very little standing water, making it nice to be able to play your balls where they landed, and not have to move it constantly, that was awesome! It has been several years since we played this course last, and from what we remember, it has just gotten better.
The course was nice. You can not have a cooler on your cart unless you buy at least 6 beverages of any type from the snack bar. They would not let us have a cooler for our own water, you had to buy 6 of their 3 dollar bottles of water to get a cooler. They were so afraid that we would bring our own beer.
Fun Day
It's a challenging course with lots of hazards. Always have a good time and great staff and starter! Course mostly in great shape.
Thunderstorm
Booked and paid ahead of time, day of tee time it was torrential downpour raining and thunderstorms, so as a safety concern metal clubs, water, lightning, I canceled tee time and they will not refund. $250 for nothing.
Fun course
Great course. Not the longest but has some challenges.
Mad Russian is difficult to deal with!!!
Played the Mad Russian Golf Course and had a great time. The front nine is full of challenging holes. The greens were in perfect shape, but the undulation made each putt difficult. The back nine is a thrill ride over hills and ponds and ravines and neighboring farm lands - each hole is challenging to get to the green! This course is a lot of fun o play - will be back next week!
That Russian must have really been mad when he designed this course.
I haven’t played this course for years and it was about the same as I remembered. A lot of blind shots and steep slopes when riding the cart.
We were behind a slow group which made it a long round. I think they could add a bell on a few greens to let people behind them know when it’s safe to hit. I was afraid to hit not knowing how far away they were because you can’t see them
Small-town course that is short in distance but challenging. Greens are above average in condition. Large greens, hazards that are harder than average.
First Timers
Played the Mad Russian for the first time. I had heard about it for many years, but never got out there from Loveland. Staff was very nice; George the starter was great giving us an overview of the course. The layout incorporates all the natural slopes, lakes, wetlands, and small canyon areas into the course. Lots of ups and downs and side slopes on the fairways, which make it interesting. Played with someone who knew the course well, which made things easier to navigate (lots of cart path crossings) - thanks, Dan. Greens have subtle sloping, making good green reading a must. We will definitely play here again and recommend giving it a try.
challenging but excellent conditions
This course has a different layout, challenging greens with a lot of slope. The front 9 and back 9 are two totally different courses, keeps you interested. We played 18 in under 4 hours. Inexpensive and well worth what we paid, we will be playing here again soon!
