TPC Colorado

TPC Colorado is my new favorite course. It feels like there isn't a blade of grass out of place from tee to green which is to be expected from a TPC course. The bunkers were in great shape and the greens rolled as pure as I've ever seen on a course.

I wholeheartedly disagree with previous comments about the lack of "wow factors". Putting aside the monster that is the par 5 13th, there are plenty of wow holes (2, 3, 8, 10, 15, 16).

Got to play TPC Colorado for the first time, and I will echo the earlier post about the course being underwhelming. I actually told my cart mate during the round there is no "wow" factor to the course.

Course conditions were phenomenal, tee to green it was in pristine shape, and loved the pot bunkers they have and the greens rolled true and fast.

Course does not come back to clubhouse after 9, you come back after 15. Only bathroom set up was at #5/12, and with no trees and houses going up around the course you need to make sure you time it right. At the bathroom at 5/12 they had a stationary beverage cart, why not drive around? Had a water dispenser at that stop, but it wasn't working when we saw it on #5, but was working when we passed it on #12.

Clubhouse is real nice, had a couple beers before the round and they weren't priced too bad. Range is across the street, the day we played it was mat only. Not sure why as the range is huge.

It was nice to play once, but I don't think I would go back. I can play many other courses in Colorado for a lot less money. It almost seems like you're paying for the TPC name.

I have played probably 25 courses in Colorado and honestly this was nothing to write home about. From other TPC courses I have played this one just did not impress.

Many holes could have been on literally any golf course. The greens were in good shape and bunkers were well maintained but it didn’t have any signature appeal beyond the 700 yard par 5.

The practice facility was solid-as you would expect on a TPC course. The service was weird-a stationary cart girl? Maybe because of covid-but then rakes were left at bunkers so that doesn’t add up.

In my opinion there are many better courses to play in Colorado that don’t cost as much.

The Korn Ferry Tour was just in town and final day's pins were still in place--What a test!! The greens may have been the best I've ever seen. Fairways were impressive too. Great practice facility, friendly staff. If you play the black tees, beware: 727yd p5, 258yd p4, and the 18th is a 500yd p4!! I was +6 on the day, 5 of those strokes were lost on those 3 holes.

I’ve played my share of golf courses including some of the best TPC courses and TPC Colorado rivals any of these courses. Starting with course conditions you won’t play a better taken care of course from tee to green on every hole. There are 7 tee boxes to choose from along with 4 combo tees to satisfy all players skill levels. The front 9 holes play slightly easier than the back 9 holes and the 18 hole layout blends difficult holes in with some less challenging holes to keep it exciting. Many of the views are breath taking and won’t disappoint. The staff is very friendly and professional. The golf practice area is to die for and the new club house along with it’s restaurants and amenities are spectacular.

Very disappointed at my time at TPC Colorado. Joined in early 2019 through my company. Was told multiple times by the membership committee things that we just not true. Things like prices for the membership changing against our signed agreement. Thank god I kept a copy or else they would have been asking for more money to keep the membership going. Not trust worthy membership and ownership. Stay away. They will say anything to get you to be a member, then just blame the bylaws on why they won't agree to it.

Course is nice and pro shop staff are on top of things.

The TPC Colorado is my new favorite of all of the TPC courses I've played in America (the TPC Danzante Bay is hard to beat internationally). It's fun. It's interesting. It's beautiful. It's different. It's playable. One or more of these qualities is missing on many other TPCs.

The theme is a faux links with sod-wall-stacked Durabunkers mixed in with more traditional traps.

I love the variety of holes. It's not the usual tournament venue slog of too many long par 4s and too many mounds lining them. The three short par 4s in the first 11 holes are all great. The par 3s feature some sort of interaction with the three reservoirs on property.

Play it now in case it goes fully private once all the amenities like the clubhouse are fully built in the future.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, topographically speaking, when on the way to TPC Colorado. Turns out, it is a pretty unique setting, on flatlands but overlooking some large reservoirs with mountains in the distance. It's part of a new residential community so there are some construction areas surrounding the course and at the entrance.

The clubhouse wasn't open yet but the practice area was and as you'd expect from a TPC quite expansive.

There is a seriously long golf hole here, 773 yards, that gets a lot of publicity. But it's actually a pretty playable course with wide fairways. The architect extends a carrot to the architecture aficionados with a Biarritz green, and there are three really fun short par 4s, including one that is Riviera-inspired while another feels like Florida wrapping around a big pond.

Another unique element are the two different styles of bunkers that juxtapose each other: sod-faces and splashier ones.

This will be a good high-end, semi-private addition to the metro Denver area. Now you have Castle Pines and Arrowhead to the south and TPC on the northern end near Berthoud.

I've found that there seems to be a divide amongst golfers when it comes to how they rate courses. Some people tend to rate based on how pretty/scenic or unique a course is. Others tend to rate based on purely technical aspects; routing, difficulty, design, etc.. Most truly great courses excel in both areas (e.g. Augusta, Pebble, etc.). While I can certainly appreciate the more technical aspects, I'd personally rather play a beautiful but boring course over a bland but technical one. TPC Colorado falls well into the latter. It's got a few holes that are quite memorable, and a few views that aren't half bad, but it was obviously more designed with the purist in mind. The same guy that dislikes Wolf Creek for being "too gimmicky" will most likely LOVE TPC Colorado. There were stretches that I thought were brilliant (4-6 and 16-17 are great), but also stretches that kinda bored me (9-12 could really be set up anywhere, and honestly felt like the more mundane holes at Paiute). I'm glad I played it before it gets built up and more expensive, but for the price it's really only going to be truly appreciated by a select few.

Pros: AMAZING staff; they all seem to care about your experience. Great conditions, which it should be since it's only been open a few months. Awesome range with tons of options for short game practice.

Cons: Price is high, like all TPC courses. Not exactly the most scenic or unique. Overly penal in a few spots (miss the 15th green a few feet short and you're gonna have a bad time). They're still operating out of temporary structures; No clubhouse, no restaurant, so don't expect any frills.
