5 hours for 16 holes
First time playing here in a few months, and will definitely not be back. Completely unprofessional staff, specifically the starter who acts like God on judgement day. While my entire foursome was sitting waiting to go off we were told a group of regulars were going to tee off just before our time, fine I understand you take care of your regulars. As we waited 20 minutes on the path we were overheard that only 3 of the 4 in the "regular" group were there, finally they all arrive after 30 minutes. Went up to speak to the clubhouse and they just laughed it off and joked that the starter is cranky, I have a better word for it.
16 holes and 5 hours later (yes five hours) we had enough and decided to leave. There's much better golf in CT, I can name 3 courses that are ran better on the same road as Orange Hills alone, go to those tracks and avoid this one at all costs.
Not too crowded and pace was good friendly staff. Very old clubhouse with few amenities. No water on course to drink. Leaf removal with fair to good. Most holes were fine. Some on back had too many leaves and debris on greens.
Always in great shape
Leaves are well taken care of
Challenging and fun at the same time
Greens & fairways were in A+ shape. Bunkers had way too many stones, damaged my wedge.
Greens were wayyyyy too slow. Putting green was lighting fast, Disparity cost me shots getting used to the flow greens.
Will def return. Great job by the guy at the counter.
Been playing the course for years. Usually in great shape and does move along during play. It is medium challenging. Traps need good sand though. Often hard and some stones. Upset they don’t offer a senior discount on the weekends. Many courses do. Always recommend others to play here. . .
Nice course for all level of players
I played this course for years in a league. Nice layout, good pace of play and friendly staff. The only thing that needs some work are the cart paths.
Not your typical country club
I'm renting a house in Milford for the summer and wanted to play something other than the usual 9 hole courses int he area. Orange Hills was a welcome surprise. The course was in great condition and the weather was absolutely perfect. I fond the course pretty challenging (although I'm a 40 handicap so any course is challenging :) ) . I showed up hoping to have my brother ride in the cart with me but was told that wasn't allowed. When I said OK the guy behind the counter started to give me a long list of reasons why. I said it's fine but he kept going on about it. If that's the only downside to a round of golf I'll take it haha.
Very Nice Round
Went out for 9 holes with three generations: 70, 47, 16 and 13 y. o.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Course, especially the greens, was in great condition. Would like to go back for 18.
fair but challenging course
Got a last second tee time. Course in very good shape. Crowded but steady play. Challenging but fair. Very hot day, in the low 90's.
