The par-5 third has a reachable green, tempting you to attack it in two. A pond lies behind. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/16/2020

Signature hole: Six, another short five-par, is full of treachery. The views may compensate for any woes you experience. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/16/2020

Great day of golf
I played on a cold, windy day with one of my friends. The man working at the pro shop was very helpful explaining to my friend which jacket would be best for him, he also gave him a box of proV1 just for buying something. He was also very helpful in telling my friend and I (who have never played the course) how to get to the tees. All tee boxes were in good conditions. The course had several elevation changes that made it very fun.
The only downside was the greens were very sandy and looked a little dead. The greens also had small holes all over them (for drainage purposes I assume) but would alter some of my puts.
I will be returning to Quarry Ridge very soon to play again.
Awesome layout within the hills and rocks
Course is a favorite throughout the season. Great value. Some easy holes some challenging holes. Really a good test for everyone.
Challenging, but playable for average golfer.
Mid-April and the course is in excellent condition. Pro was extremely helpful and encouraging. Some holes/fairways were "mountainous" and retrieval of errant shots proved exhausting, but good play was most rewarding.
Good value
The flagsticks were put on mounds and hills of the greens. Tough placements. The greens were ridiculously quick !! They have never been quick like that in the past !!! When the ball hit the greens it would bounce off or roll off. Very difficult to stick a shot. Challenging in a way, but also frustrating.
A hidden gem
Quarry Ridge is quite a haul to get to if you don't live in Portland, Middletown, or one of the other surrounding towns. But it is a pleasant surprise seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The greens are super firm, roll fast, and are impeccable. The tee boxes and fairways are in good condition. And the layout is challenging and fun. Lots of narrow holes though so if you're a sprayer, you might want to keep the driver in the bag. The bar/restaurant has surprisingly good hot dogs too and are quick when you stop at the turn. Overall a great value and when "hot deals" are available, it's a no-brainer. Could go without the Boston Bruins stuff plastered in the lot and pro shop though!
One of the nicest courses in all of CT.
One of the best challenges in CT along with spectacular scenery. Always well maintained.
Picturesque well maintained golfcourse.
Friendly staff, beautiful views, (especially on a late October day), a well kept course even battling the falling leaves and a course that makes you pay attention to shot placement. I could recommend this course to anyone.
Very nice course
Quarry Ridge is one of my favorites. The views are spectacular and the course is well-maintained.
Challenging and well maintained course but would recommend Portland over this course.
The course was certainly challenging. It was very tight and left marginal room for errors. I don't particularly care for blind holes and hidden traps. Made it difficult to find well hit balls that went over the hills and slowed play. A couple of the hoes I would consider unplayable. One particular was just insane with a rock ledge running straight down the fairway. If you hit to the right, you have chance, if you hit left, you're down in the wet lowlands. I recommend Portland over Quarry Ridge. I most likely will not play this course again as there are just too many courses in the area that are much nicer.
good bang for the buck
this is a hilly course carved out of the woods and as such
there are some very interesting shot choices . the layout
can be confusing . greens in good shape, fairways need
some work. great views. friendly cart girl.great overall
value, but we followed a league around who was sloooow.
good chicken wings too !
Excellent track
Well maintained greens. Fairways well kept and skinny, Quite some elevation changes, mainly on the back nut the first few holes as well.
