Course was backed up
Played as a single but joined up with two other guys. Great course and conditioned really well. The only problem was there were 2 extremely slow groups in front of us who were slowing us down. It took our group almost 5 hours to play and we were waiting on every shot. Only recommendation would be to have some marshals roaming the course. Didn't see any the entire round. That might help things move a little faster. Will definitely play here again though
Good Average Course
Average course which was in good condition. Awesome deal on GolfNow!
Quarry Ridge Golf Course
Course, conditions, pro shop, grill room all a 10. Gal tending bar made an excellent Margarita! Got a $5 credit with the green fee for the grill room....
Highly recommend this course. Not for walkers and I like to walk.
Nice Golf Course
Good round, nice day and great weather. My only complaint: They let singles and twosomes go out and it is pretty disorganized out there. A twosome in front of me refused to allow me to play with them and I had to wait behind them. They should group people up better. Same thing happened last time I played here.
Memorial Day Sunday
Quarry Ridge continues to provide a solid challenge while hosting some of the nicest views in Greater Hartford.
We've previously eaten at the bar / restaurant and the food was very good. My only two complaints were pace of play (over five hours) and early dismissal of staff (beer cart and bar staff.)
Regardless, I would recommend the course to all.
Scenic course and great staff
This course bills itself as the most scenic in CT and it certainly has to be up there. The elevation changes aren't too harsh and the random rock formations make for some challenging situations. It isn't an easy course but it isn't overly difficult either. Greens and fairways were in great shape.
What made it for me was the staff. One of our foursome called out short notice for a pre paid time booked through GolfNow so there wasn't anything the course staff could do....cannot be helped. But when another of our group had to stop through injury after 9 holes and the course pro saw that (we had talked in the shop beforehand) while he was out on the course himself, he was eager to compensate us for our loss, even though Quarry Ridge had done absolutely nothing wrong. Just a fantastic gesture from very personable staff that will be seeing my group and I return to Quarry Ridge without hesitation.
This course is very challenging
Fairways are very narrow, but the course is very well kept and views are amazing. I plan on playing this course a couple times this year.
Bit of a challenge
Not a long course but some holes are tight and challenging. Greens were still growing in from aeration. The course has improved with drainage from past yearsl
Excellent Value and Enjoyable Ride
I booked through Golf Now so got a discounted tee time. WHAT A BARGAIN!!! Beautiful course and really nice people.
The course was in great shape this early in the season, and offers as much challenge as you'd like. I played from the blue tees and had my hands full. I play to a 7 handicap, but not as long as I once was. There were a couple of forced carries from the blacks that wouldn't have reached the fairway.
The course is very fair. A few blind tee shots and approach shots make the game interesting, but overall what you see is what you get.
. The views are outstanding. Can't wait to play in the fall.
Overall, a great experience. Looking forward to returning.
Great condition early in the season
From the tee to the green I found the course to be in excellent condition and even though we have been experiencing rainy conditions. The drainage must be good considering the course was not nearly as wet as some others I have played in the same weather.
Nice course to play
Lots of slopes and hills but a beautiful course to play. A few holes are blind tee shots but no big surprises. A few of the pin placements were a bit annoying (on top of or on the edge of a ridge) but overall a very enjoyable course to play.
Good value, good conditions
I have played here before, so no surprises. The course was in good shape. The greens putted faster than some other courses at this time of year (a good thing) and there was no one out there. We played the round in just over 3 hours. Great value through golf now versus making a tee time through the pro shop
Under slopped
Course in good shape for late April. Very scenic, pretty course with what I image are spectacular views in late autumn. Challenging greens and approaches. Don't miss the greens! Do not understand how they have determined a slope of 119 from the blue tees. Course is much more difficult for the average golfer then the slope indicates.
Excellent value
Playing early in the season, you're never sure how the conditions will be. I was pleasantly surprised at how great the overall conditions of the fairways & greens were, at Quarry Ridge. The greens were smooth & consistent & the fairways were in great shape too. For the money, one of the better courses in the area.
This course has everything
Quarry Ridge has been one of my favorite courses in CT because it is picturesque and always well maintained. The elevation changes are quite spectacular. Although many holes offer even the single digit handicap a challenge by their uneven lies and well placed traps, it is a course you can score well on if your short game is good. Putting is consistent
and the greens are also in good condition. It's just a fun course with a nice staff and a solid restaurant and bar.

Many hIlls
Nice course with lots of interesting holes. Very hilly and you need a cart. IKn very good shape for this early in the season.
If you have a chance lay this one.
Worker in Pro Shop very unprofessional and rude
I played on 11/20 and enjoyed the course thoroughly. However, I will never return and I will make sure none of my golfing friends play there. Upon arrival, I checked in without my golf shoes on or my clubs out of my car. I told the guy in the pro shop I booked it on golfnow and he checked for my name. The man in front of me was about to tee off but he held him up so I could hop on the cart with him. That was not the problem. The problem was his rationale behind it. He told me that I could not have my own cart because I had paid on GolfNow, a much cheaper price than if I had paid at the pro shop. He made me feel like a second-class customer. This is not Augusta National. You should treat the 6 people willing to pay to play golf in late November like gold. I suggest playing Portland Golf Course right next door, as their staff could not be nicer. I would hope GolfNow would cut their ties with this course because they are not treating the GolfNow customer right.
Wonderful Late November Day
Course is in "GREAT" shape. Fairways were all clear of leaves. Greens had a few but you could tell they had gotten there doing the day. Even the rough around the Greens was clear of leaves. Course is tight. White tees make it easier for high handicappers. But it is a course you need to bring your A-Game. You will hear "FORE" a few time thru out the day. Course could of been marked better. Two holes you have to wait for the group in front of you to Tee Off - then you have to drive by them to get to the tees.
I usually play from the White Tees but the Gentleman running the Pro Shop said the White tees we very short and the Blue Tees were the old White Tees. So I gave them a go and I am so glad I did.
I will play again! With a round of "88" from the "Blue Tees"
Breath taking view as we finished. Full moon coming up in the East - Beautiful Sunset to the West. Perfect ending to a wondeful November round of Golf.
The greens are very true.
This course was in great shape for the time of year I played , all the leaves where blown off the fairways and greens, pristine condition ,will play again.
