Local Course. Great atmosphere
The golf course and restaurant/bar seem to be making a come back. We've been playing here for a few years now. Staff is awesome. Newer golf carts that zoom. Stay in the fairway and you'll be fine. Unique layout with one of the best par 4's in CT! Where else can to blast driver on a downhill dogleg right over a busy road?! Exactly. Great place for a date. Go play 9 holes and then enjoy drinks on the outdoor venue.

Strongly Appealing Layout
QUICK REVIEW: The attached photos should show amply that Farmingbury Hills is an excellent layout. You’ll be hard pressed to find a nine hole course in all of Connecticut with more strong ground movement, elevation changes, variety, and solid green complexes that possess fine contours. Whoever the unknown architect of FH was back in the 1920’s, this designer was highly perceptive about what makes interesting golf holes, and executed his or her vision to a high standard.
CONDITIONS: The course has been progressing since last summer’s drought, and has turned the corner on the green complexes, which now have beautifully-manicured fringes, roughs, and putting surfaces. You can’t ask for much better on a public course with heavy play. Tees were average to good, but lagging behind are the fairways and the fairway roughs, which range from below average to average. Only a couple of fairways, I noticed, were good (for instance, at nine).
PLAYING EXPERIENCE: As always, a fun round here because the layout is so engaging. Of particular interest are the alternate greens on several holes, giving the ‘second nine’ genuine distinction from the holes you’ll play on the front. Service was good, friendly and attentive here, both by the young lady behind the counter and the gentleman who started us off. I was part of an excellent foursome (played with T, S, and J (initials)) and we enjoyed engrossing conversation--mainly, of course, about golf--throughout the nine. Two of these gentlemen went on to play the back. This was their first play but they were inspired by Farmingbury Hills.
